84 acre commune looking for people!!!

Commune life is a lot of work, especially just starting out, though ours' is already a working farm, we have lots to do before we're where we want to be and we try to keep the carbon footprint as low as possible until we get there.

I agree about certain communes feeling like there's a catch or others trying to get rich and such, and for a time I was reluctant from joining a few, but decided to chance a few of them to find not all are like that...nothing like that here. The owner runs the place alone and wanted to fulfill her dream and needed help so after much thinking and research, decided to form a commune. Yes we're going to be making money eventually, but once the bills are paid and the animals have food we'll be sharing the profits with those who live here or just here to help out... equal shares.
Please don't think ill about us from other places with bad intent or until you see for yourself... if you want to check it out send me a pm and tell me about yourself a bit.

As for the others, Starshine, Cylob, etc., don't think you're already out because we need a balance, we're still accepting people, just been busy and the owner is at a craft show so I haven't been able to talk with her yet...we'll get to you soon enough.

If it was up to me, I'd have you all over to hang with a bonfire, with music, food, stories and laughter, then take it from there... but as with many communes, I can only have a say on things, but the final decision is still up to the owner.

 

I'm sorry you feel that way, but do you really know us so well to post such a thing? Are you giving us any respect as to our wishes? Did I ever say anything negative about acid heads?

Each commune has their own theme, their own guidelines, and should be respected, intolerance is not the issue, if we're not right for you, them look elsewhere, there's plenty of places for you to fit in.
As I wrote above, I've been there, I had my time in the party scene and we don't want to be around it, we moved on and now focus on other things.
I know plenty of intelligent people on drugs and such, never said you were any less, I also know a few commune's that lost their land from drug busts and people growing weed on the property and don't need that stuff here.
Man, there was a time I wanted to join a place that grew their own and made their own alcohol, and during that time, I'd love to hang with you and get loaded, if you knew me in my party days, you'd have a blast... but those days are long gone, so please show some respect.

 

Cool hammock idea, think I'll try it out by the creek... I like to go there to sit and listen to the trickling water, wind through the tree's and the critters doing their thing.

Don't give up because I didn't get back to you yet, haven't been able to talk with the owner yet, she's at a fair vending goods... just posted the balance thing trying to keep it equal, we'll most likely have more guys than women like many other communes... just don't want it to be like a place I know of with like 100 guys and 15 women, though we'll have far less people, maybe 10 max, 5 or 6 to start with.
Wouldn't you like to have a few women to talk with, or have opinions from another point of view, and help out instead of all dudes?

 

Obviously it is clear I don't want to join your commune. I wasn't asking you to reconsider your opinion so I could join. Definitely not my type of commune, and I will look elsewhere.

However, I understand the weariness of the party type, but that's definitely not what I had in mind with psychedelic users. Stupid behavior is stupid behavior, and anyone that would contribute to such would be counter productive, drug user or not.

Maitereya, Spirit Wynd said VA not WV. And I did some researching on zendik farm along time ago because there not far from were im at in ohio but it wasnt the place for me. Evidently theyve had alot of issues and alot of people gave there views on it here on the hip forums. Spirit I hope you get your ratio of women to men worked out and I can understand why things need to be like that.

 

Lol, looks like we'll have more dudes helping out to start with anyway, no matter, we'll get the muscle work done to make it easier for the ladies when they do get here... the owner is a woman and she'll most likely find a few lady friends to keep her company.

i am a girl....and i also have a 9 year old daughter. we have been looking for something like this for a while. i am so sick of this society and struggling to work stupid underpaying jobs just to turn around and pay it all out to bills and not have any sense of selfworth. day in and day out the same old crap. i would much prefer to grow my own food with friends and family. share the chores. be self-sufficient among a much more preferred society. i agree that the ratio of boys to girls is important. who wants to hang out with only members of the same sex? i would definitely like to see that other children would be there. didn't really know how to send a pm so i just replied to the post.

 

i would only join a new commune that loved children enough to include them in the dream . something real would be a school .

I've been looking for another commune to checkout, and since nationals are going to be out around that area this year I might try to find you. Until then, please keep the thread updated because I'd love to hear how much progress is being made.
