My younger brother is amaaaazing at rubix cubes. He's got a whole collection of various kinds.

I was only alive for four years of the 80s so I consider myself more a "90s child" but I do think little plastic animals were of a superior quality and they probably came from the 80s. I don't miss any of it though because I am totally in the present man

I miss ripping out pages from the Metal Edge and Circus magazine of Motley Crue and plastering them all over my bedroom wall. I still have my Guns N Roses shirt from 1987, man those were the days

A few years later, I did the same thing with Riot Grrrl fanzines.

I had black and white Xeroxed images of Bikini Kill everywhere.

Making plans with someone days in advance and just both showing up on time without having to speak about it again beforehand.

Everyone not carrying around a cell phone all the time.

We've become completely dependent on them, to our detriment.

Motley Crue, Dokken, Poison and Ratt were at their prime.

    Normal risk was...normal.

We didn't obsess about terrorism. Yeah, there were terrorists. Yeah, they hijacked planes. But everyone understood that this was a risk. And, whether it's true or not, I get the feeling that folks in the '80s would have been more willing to fight back. These days, everyone is taught to be passive.

The thing I miss most about the 80s is watching lots of movies from the 60s and 70s on regular tv.

Far fewer tattoos and piercings. Tattoos were for bikers and sailors. Nobody dyed their hair unnatural colors, either. I miss the optimism of the time. Sure, the world had its problems, but we were working on them.
