Like they say in the video, its not ready for prime time yet, but this is definitely one of those technologies they will be rushing to market within five years or so. Battery technology has made so many advances in recent years the question is what technology like this will come on the market first, and next year we will see the first new Li Ion batteries that are roughly half the cost. This one would be 7x cheaper if the price scaled that way, but you get the idea, for probably a thousand bucks you could have enough batteries to run a small household, while solar cells are getting cheaper as well, making them more attractive for people who don't have a lot of money to invest in anything.
The theory of everything is coming, but its not anything anyone ever wanted to hear, which is why it took this long. The theory itself had to become self-organizing, conflating the identity of space and time, because information and awareness can be considered magically self-organizing along with everything else.
