A 78 year old householder has been arrested for stabbing a burglar who entered his home in London today. Isn't this a reversal of all values? I think you should be allowed to use whatever force necessary to repel intruders to your home. Punishment for burglary is way too soft. I think the invasion of the sanctity of your home should carry a maximum penalty. Anyone trying to break into my home will feel my maximum force. In the UK we have a law requiring that you use 'Reasonable force' in reaction to being attacked. How does one try to measure reasonable force against someone who is mounting an unprovoked attack against you and may kill you. This guy was 78. Sometimes the law is an ass.
Being arrested doesn't mean a whole lot.......hopefully, assuming it was self-defence he'll be released without charge. Could be tricky if their are no witnesses though.
I think the fact that he stabbed the intruder rather than just threatened may mean a court appearance. The worse thing is that the intruder is going to try to go for compensation if he has been injured. If some **** broke into my house I know I would do whatever necessary to protect us and damn the consequences.
The Price of Justice There is no justice in or out of court, That is, unless you have deep pockets! And happen to be presentable and likable! Or happen to be especially good at groveling! Or just so happen to have friends in high places! For the price of any justice in modern day Babylon, Is first the money in your wallet, and then your soul. Justice for sale at low-low prices, on isle number nine, If don't mind buying cheap Chinese plastic crap that won't last. The more expensive stuff, requires buying a lot of insurance, Tickets to the policeman's ball, bribes, kickbacks, and so on. Sometimes, its really good to be king when every door opens, Just ask Marion Barry, the cocaine and hooker major of D.C. fame. "Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country. If you take out the killings, Washington actually has a very very low crime rate. I promise you a police car on every sidewalk." He became known as "Mayor For Life" after he left office. (Marion Barry)
Sometimes you gotta do "something" and not worry about what could possibly happen. Hesitation will surely get you killed. He's 78, helpless, doesnt know if this is a burglar or murderer breaking in his house.
''i knocked on the door your honour, the gentleman said ''come on in'' and when i entered the home the man attacked me without warming...i was just going to ask for directions as i was lost''....''it seemed like the man was back in ww2 because he was calling me a krout?''....''.perhaps he is senile your honour''
obviously the dude isn't helpless....you put that in there yourself?.......i know plenty old fuckers would whip a young dudes ass no problem...
Until they draw and quarter you... Carrying you out in 12 pieces. Some, are never heard from again, Half of all homicides, still go unsolved. The hardened criminals they keep in prison, While white collar crime might as well not be a crime.
Rambling Silence One syllable after another, Is how we all put words together! Rambling over our lifetimes, About completely meaningless bullshit, Learning what words can possibly mean, By first examining what's missing from this picture. For, without the rambling silence, we would all go insane!
