I was wondering if there were any bands that either survived or came up with the spirit of the 60s intact, or at least was an extension of the 60s. I know alot of bands either went another direction or went hard rock/ metal. If there is any at all i'd like to know.

Huh? Your question is very unclear. You must be young.

You've heard of the Grateful Dead? Furthur? Jorma Kaukonen? Santana? Allman Brothers? Buddy Guy?

I know some of those but i meant like, alot of bands changed and or just broke up when and around the 60s ended. And there are very few that straight just carried the 66-68 style psychedelia. Fuzz guitars etc.

Pink Floyd was doing it well into '72... but they later went in a more art-rock direction. I dunno. It kinda fits your question though.

Technically you could call all those that sunfighter listed as psychedelic, or at least influenced and influential to the psychedelia music scene. Seriously, delve a little deeper. I'm not too into psychedelia as music - yet - but the psychedelic music scene, even as you seem to be thinking of it, still exists today, you just gotta search for it. Hell, we have entire threads on it right here in this section of the forum

The OP speaks of "the spirit of the 60's". Choosing to "go another direction" is exactly what the '60s were about.

I can't think of many full albums which retain the 60's quality but these songs all have elements reminscent of the 60's:

Indeed. But I meant more like moving away from psychedelics and stuff like that, and took more back to basics rock and roll or just went prog/space rock which Is just different.

By the way, I think what you're looking for is more commonly referred to as acid rock, not psychedelic.

Well, there's Soft Machine and Jade Warrior. Much more recently there's Gay Bikers On Acid (If that's not psychedelic, I don't know what is.)
(Stoopid chromebook won't post links today) I need a mouse. There on you tube for the curious.
