50Th Anniversary Of The Summer Of Love – What Are You Doing?

I’m planning on going to California and riding my motorcycle up the coastal highway and follow the same route I hitchhiked many moons ago during the Summer of Love, when I realized the Summer of Love was 50 years ago in 1967 and so I was wondering if anyone is planning on doing anything interesting this summer to celebrate or if anyone had heard of anything interesting happening this Summer?

 

well i'm pretty much committed to this year's blfc. (membership and hotel both pre-paid up)
after that, if i'm not completely broke, and the chumpster hasn't stolen everyone's pension, we shall see what we shall see.

my 69th birthday is this may.

Quite obviously, the US government was not heavily invested in love in 1967.

As for “pot, protest, and pussy”; psychedelics, yes - protest, not so much – pussy, it is a common misconception that free love meant free sex but in a world, that seemed filled with Hate (Vietnam being an example), some thought it was time for mankind to turn to Love (an intense feeling of deep affection, not sex) as its dominant emotion, thus the Summer of Love.

 

Its nice to see that there's still some of us around.
