They featured this song on a short news article on NPR this afternoon .... Before they had done this I could not name one single song on any particular Beatles album I had long forgotten particulars ......in my opinion the entire world would have been better off if McCartney had been shot and Lenon lived
Abbey Road is my favorite Beatles album. If I had to choose a favorite song, I would probably pick Something. But there is that medley that finishes up the album, which is fantastic, it has a sum greater than it's parts type feel to me. Rarely do I listen to any of those medley songs individually. There are other quality songs on the album as well.
I was there when they filmed that LP sleeve. Thank you for making me feel so geriatric. Perhaps I should dig my flares out of the attic, if the moths have not completely devoured them.
Come Together, Here Comes the Sun, Her Majesty. Saw Paul at a concert recently, Excellent. His love for the crowd was very evident.
Saw him a few years ago and 100% agree. You can tell how much he loves to perform and how proud he is to be Beatle - as he should!
Real Love 4 the FABS, - Went to the Studios, chatted with a few of the staff there, walked across the crossing = the highlight of my Honeymoon ….. "All those year ago" I have the Poster on my 'den' wall for when I'm 'working from home = inspiration and good memories. I tend to look at - or should that be hear, the Album as a musical piece of showcase, John's Come together a strong start, George's two tracks melodic tracks stand up with the best of musical ballads, a little light relief/children's fav from Ringo with Sir Paul's Silver Hammer along with his nod (pre knighthood) to Her Majesty - Added to this Oh Darlin, I want you and a predominantly side two composition that one oft treats as a stand alone track = make it hard to choose one. - So I won't (P.S. See tag line below)
I can't tell from your profile whether you were around when that album was made, but I doubt that your cat was either. As an opera lover, although everyone was Beatle mad, I felt like calling Rentokil a few times when we were recording minor film tracks at Abbey Road sound studios. During that period, I worked with Linda McCarthy on several film soundtracks and I was never quite sure what her connection was with the Beatles. Do you happen to know the answer.
Hello all, Last month I wrote a web review/article of the Abbey Road CD Anniversary Deluxe Edition CD box set. Below is the link to the article. BTW, it's interesting that the BBC2's 1969 Abbey Road TV special on the Late Night Line-Up show has recently re-surfaced. Thanks, Marshall The Beatles "Abbey Road Anniversary Edition" Super Deluxe Box Set Review
