I don't think anything will happen but I can't shake the thought of the victims of Orlando and their frame of mind. I'm going to try and have a good time. What kind of event is she going to? It really sucks that it's making people like her fearful of going out to the clubs. As someone like me who relies on tips from clubbers and night life, I face having less customers for my weekend job.
This story I simply don’t believe …………………….How could anyone be so callous in light of what happened http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/latest-oneorlando-fund-money-39932347 The Latest: Assistant State Attorney Suspended Over Post Officials say a Florida assistant state attorney has been suspended after posting a Facebook statement tied to the Pulse nightclub attack. WESH-TV reports that Ninth Judicial Circuit state attorney's office spokeswoman Angela Starke says Kenneth Lewis was suspended Friday for violating the office's social media policy. The Sunday morning post slams downtown Orlando as dangerous and says the whole city "should be leveled." He calls it "a melting pot of 3rd world miscreants and ghetto thugs." Lewis was temporarily reassigned in 2014 after making a post using the term "crack hoes," the station reports. Hotwater
It sounds like this jackass Lewis doesn't need a job working anywhere with the public, much less a job in the State Attorney's office. I have to laugh - someone like that can say almost anything, it certainly seems, and they are just "reassigned". However, let 'em get caught with a joint - and it buh-bye career.
A recent british poll found: 52% of british born muslims want homosexuality made illegal. Not "they're not cool with gay marriage", not "they don't approve of the lifestyle", they want it made criminal to be gay. A reading of the Hadiths will provide you with some suggestions for punishments, including throwing gays off buildings and stoning them to death. 47% think gays should not be allowed to work as teachers. 39% agree with the statement "wives should obey their husbands" 2/3 said they would not tell police if they knew someone was supporting terrorism in Syria. 1/3 said they would refuse to condemn violent acts against those who "mock Mohammad". Almost 25% said they favored replacing british law with Sharia. These are not Taliban cave dwellers; these are british integrated muslims. The same poll found that of those with the horrifying answers given above, 88% thought britain was a good place for muslims, and 86% said they felt a "strong sense of belonging", a figure higher than the national average. I find it disgusting and cowardly to imply that Islam had nothing to do with this attack. Could he have been a closet gay? yes. Could he have been mentally ill? Yes. Could Islam have supported his views and given him a theological and moral grievance against the gay community? YES. Let's stop insulting the victims by pretending otherwise! Let's please speak plainly about the worldview of a huge swath of earth's population!
^ Wow it's like an alterego of 6eyed shaman... First of all, to be precise: 2/3 of muslims didn't say that. It is a poll, about percentages and an estimation at best. To use that poll and claim things to be like that (2/3 of british muslims said...) is misleading. Secondly: nobody said Islam has nothing to do with it. Please read better: people (like me) have claimed it is silly to not look closer to the motive and just assume it is caused by islamic indoctrination or something. Just like we can't solely blame Ozzy Osbourne or video games and its developers when people claim that as their inspiration for dubious actions. Can you see the logic in that? It can just as easily be perceived that what islam haters are doing is disgusting when they solely claim that religion as the origin for such actions. Especially when they go off rambling about muslims in other countries, when this guy was born and raised in the USA. And the real problem seems to be that he got a licence for an assault rifle with which he could kill 50 people. You have no idea how much people dislike other people and their behaviour (and how diverse the reason for that can be). That is just how things are. We as a society have to prevent people from getting there a) mentally in such a state and b) physically, by making sure people don't get to shoot guns they have no reason to have a legal permit for in the first place. (ab)Using such matters to spout your hate and spread more fear against islam/and ormuslims in general can easily be seen as equally disgusting. I have no urge to claim such things, I am just pointing out you are annoying by callin me or my words like that (not the first time)
The survivors are dealing with some harsh things. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/latest-funeral-held-orlando-shooting-victim-39959381
Fifty Thousand people came out for the vigil in Orlando last night. https://www.mynews13.com/content/news/cfnews13/news/article.html/content/news/articles/cfn/2016/6/19/lake_eola_vigil_pulse_shooting.html Then, a rainbow appeared... At one point, after the name of each victim was recited, the crowd chanted "We remember them!" The Associated Press reported. And when the rainbow appeared, according to NBC station WESH, the crowd lost it. http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/orlando-nightclub-massacre/estimated-50-000-people-attend-vigil-orlando-vcitims-n595346
Real sorry about that .... but if you look at it real cold now is the safest time to go out. It'll take at least 6 months before something else happens. All the best.
Thank you. She went and made it back home safely. She was just worried about some lunatic doing a copycat type thing.
Now this: Link If.....this account is true, and sounds likely...... 1) 63 visits to his secret gay hookup hotel "this" year, not a year, "this" year, 10 times a month....thats more than just a part time interest 2) Felt used by puerto rican gay guys in particular.......even though they knew he wasnt ever going to be "out" , never going to ever really fit in with both the puerto rican and gay culture 3) Angry in part because some guy didnt tell him he was HIV+, which is far enough. Well fair enough to be angry over that is, not fair enough to kill 49 people over, of course 4) The puerto ricans had all the power over him, because that was his type, whereas closeted married arab guys not really the top of their list Its an extreme case of course, not every guy with these issues goes into a gay nightclub and fires off an automatic rifle.....but its the kind of thing we see all the time, angry at themselves, angry at guys that are out but dont want to play silly games with someone closeted, angry at "society" even though its them themselves that dont want work friends or family to know, And dare I say it, but it has to be said, angry for well, not being hot enough Oi
Investigators can find no evidence that the shooter had any ties with anything gay. http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-orlando-gay-fbi-20160623-snap-story.html In seeking to verify the reports, federal agents have culled Mateen's electronic devices, including a laptop computer and cellphone, as well as electronic communications of those who made the claims, law enforcement officials said. So far, they have found no photographs, no text messages, no smartphone apps, no gay pornography and no cell-tower location data to suggest that Mateen — who was twice married to women and had a young son — conducted a secret gay life, the officials said. The FBI is continuing to explore Mateen’s past, but investigators now believe the men who made the claims are not credible, or confused Mateen with someone else.
It's possible the claims of him being secretly gay were all just theory. Maybe due to eye witnesses seeing him at the Pulse night club in previous days. I say it's possible Mateen attended the night club not to have fun, but to scope the place out to plan his attack.
