5 Years On Hip Forums

99 or so for me, I think. "They" sure have come and gone. I miss a few--MaMaKcita and toolmaggot, for 2.

 

5 years for me too. Well maybe more like 3 1/2 since i took some extended vacations from here a few times.

 

i also originally found this place in 2003. february 2nd specifically. i remember because it was groundhog day, and i repeated that first day on hipforums about a hundred times before i got it right and time finally advanced again.




it really was groundhog day. not that that has any actual significance, but it's something that i randomly remember.

I just lost WHT to VB4 and its absolute trash..... (I just said my goodbye today)

They dont care.... I cant be mad at the staff,its not really thier fault... IT IS INET!!!! (They are putting all thier sites on that garbage)

I am very loud and vocal when it comes to something that is important to me...... IF I VALUE A SITE,I WILL TRY AS HARD AS I CAN TO DEFEND IT AND KEEP IT FROM BEING REPLACED WITH CRAP and if I cannot,I LEAVE....... I have nothing more to do with it!!!!

I DONT STAY THERE AND COMPLAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant believe how many ppl on WHT are complaining about it.... JUST LEAVE THE SITE!!!! -- They dont care (INET doesnt .... Maybe the staff cares but INET doesnt)

PEOPLE ARE THIER OWN WORST ENEMYS!!!!!!!!!!


I value sites like hipforums and all the VBB sites im on running 3.x or lower (And other good SW sites im on) MORE THAN YA REALISE THESE DAYS GUYS!!!!!!!

I became a member under this name in 2010 as well. I registered under another name in 2004 and wrote a really long political rant and of course no one responded. So I just lurked for years before joining again.

Fast approaching 11 years although it’s really 12 years if you consider lurking around for a year board participation.

I started posting just after I was banned from the BET message boards for being too black, back then the boards were under constant attack by white supremacists so I weighed-in and i guess the moderator didn't appreciate by dry humor and levity.

i'm guessing because like today's social media, it might be something that wouldn't have interested me if i had.

other then this place, which is the only one i go just to hang out and bullshit,

the rest of the places i go on the net are based on my interest in sharing visual illustrations of what i consider an easily achievable better world,
and those concerned with the technologoies of making such a world possible,
rail based transit, solar energy, organic gardening, nature, small form factor shelter, small form factor everything else, little furry creatures with big sharp teeth, and so on.

I think it's pretty funny that most of the more senior posters on this site probably joined when they were much younger and probably actually hippies. Now, not so much.

It was so much fun fending off attacks by upstanding, law abiding, citizens (or at least that’s what they claimed...ha. ha..) who were under the odd belief we lived an arboreal existence. Well my home is made out of wood...interesting.
