the "collapse" of any one nation i fear less, then the cultural collapse of consideration people feel, express, and live, toward the continuation of both their own species, and of all life on their planet. though i might also fear nuclear winter less then the normalization of invasion and conquests of any one nation by any other. on the up side, the implication of refrigeration and a bar bi que is a good one, as is the possibility of a group of friends reserving one of those bbq pits in a park with a shaded table and one or more to bring an ice chest with a variety of meats and other consumables.
hold on it's the 3rd still. lol The Declaration of Independence, adopted this day in 1776 by the Second Continental Congress, called for the American colonies to secede from Great Britain, a proclamation now commemorated by a U.S. national holiday.
It's all weekend here! BTW The declaration was enacted by congress on the 2nd, but not fully signed and executed till the 4th. That's my excuse anyway lol!!
i'll have the hamburger without the cheese, (bacon, avacado, dill, tomato, peperencini, and black olives are all good on it instead) and with a big bowl of macaroni salad. deviled eggs are also good, as is ice cold water melon. anything hot off the grill has its own special wonderfulness from being cooked that way, even corn on the cob.
