"I want to die like my father, peacefully in my sleep. Unlike his passengers." -Some comedian

Conspiracy- The pilot didn't "crash" the plane, it was on purpose. Earlier that day he found out his wife was in that house having an affair with their sons math teacher. Murder/Suicide.

Eckert elucidated many of the failures that helped cause 9/11. Ashame she got little or no mainstream media attention.

a dash 8, cost about 13 million dollars.. Do you think they would intentionally crash a 13 million dollar plane, cause they dont want to pay out a 1.8 million dollars elsewhere?
Not to say how much compensation is going to be paid out for the ground clean up and disaster relief to the local fire and police?

The pilot was a woman. Unless you're Ricky Gervais humor needs to make sense. Try again.

There was also an indication that the auto-pilot was engaged - she was probably doing her nails

The last time I was on a flight, the aircraft dropped an incredible 7000 feet in only 2.5 minutes!

Then I looked at the numbers.

A 7000 foot descent in 2.5 minutes is 32 mph.

For a horizontal speed of 500 mph, the slope would be:

    arctan(32/500) = 3.7 degrees.

That's in the range of a normal 3 to 5 degree glide slope used by commercial aircraft.

    Not so incredible. :)

I had to look up her myspace... I recognized her face, but we didn't hang out or anything. It's always sad to lose a member of the community, but no, I didn't know her. Others did, though and they were pretty broken up.
It's weird, actually. Over the weekend, we lost her and another of my classmates in an unrelated thing... He had lupus and died choking on a piece of food. He was in my Physics class last year, and he was a nice guy.
Just a bad weekend for Keuka College all around...
