Lacto Vegetarians: eat dairy, but no eggs or animal flesh. Lacto-ovo Vegetarians: eat dairy products and eggs, but no animal flesh. Ovo Vegetarians: eat eggs, but no animal flesh or dairy products. Pesco Vegetarians: eat dairy, eggs and fish, but no poultry or red meat. Semi-Vegetarians: eat dairy, eggs, chicken and fish, but no red meat. Vegans: eat no animal products at all. I don't think I had ever heard of pesco vegetarian before. Over the years my eating habits change somewhat from lacto-ovo, to Semi-vegetarian (which I don't really call vegetarian)....depending on if I live in my own house or if I live with someone who eats meat.
Yes Vegan here.....but isnt just what we eat is also what we wear and which cleaning/beauty products we use
I'm type four, bay-be! But I make an exception... I occasionally eat the eggs of my neighbors' chickens, because I know them personally. They run all over the place and I am sure that they'll never be harmed in any way.
VEGAN! meat and animal-by-product freeee. Have been so for 2 years and I have never gotten sick, my health is superb and it's the best decision I have ever made in my life. I do know some pesco vegetarians, this is because they are simply sushi-addicts! hah.
I've been a vegetarian for 10 years (ranging from type 1- type 4.) Now I am a vegan again. If you're really into what it's all about, there's really nothing "hard core" about it. It's the only thing that makes sense.
how is fish not a meat? its the flesh of an organism that that requires oxygen to remain a living organism. please, some one answer me this, because everytime I ask someone they refuse to discuss it. A fish has eyes, a mouth, teeth, a digestive system, so how is it not an animal? Do they not lay eggs to reproduce? can a vegan eat one daily and call themselves a vegan without being a liar? ok, I am not anti meat -obviously- nor do i think people that choose not to eat meat are wrong. I just wana know about the fish thing, what is the rational? how does one justify lowering a organisms status fron animal to vegitable? and then there are those that consider chicken and turkey "not meat". but I will ask that question at some other time.....
exactly as I have said in my posts, I can't imagine why it wouldn't be. besides, fish ARE endangered.
so bald eagles are not meat? once again not trying to argue for meat, just a clarification of definitions.
hon, i have no idea what you're talking about but i'll try to clarify. i AM a vegan so why are you arguing with me? I believe any animal product should not be eaten.
I'm veganly but if I go to my parent's places I'll eat stuff with margerine on it, even if it contains whey. Same goes for bread, I don't ask if the monoglycerides are from plant sources or not. At my place, though, I'm pretty strict on that sort of thing. Also, the whole house is free of leather/feathers/misc. avoidable animal products.
I'm a pesca vegetarian, but a very picky one at that. I only eat certain fish & seafood. I hate shrimp & lobster. I also won't eat 'fishy' tasting fish, if that makes any sense.
