That wee little button to the right of the quote button. I think it turns red. Then just hit the actual quote button on the last post your gonna quote. I think.
Whoa whoa whoa, did I just miss something here? Are you saying you are going to take out your dreads? DX If so, why?
5 months, yayyy!!!! They're kind of like... half dread half not still but all well. I look like a hobo and it's glorious. (also, moral, don't ever dye your hair black, kids, it won't come out ever)
Unless you want to keep it black haha, I dyed my hair black, even though its naturally black (I couldn't wait for my hair to grow back) I am at 5 months too
I have no idea what I'll do about it??? Maybe it will look cool to have long black tipped dreads? Doubtful. I'll probably have to bleach it out or something. Yuck. Congrats! I think I saw another member here that's at 5 months
Mama Peace is at 5 months, and im sure it will look good if you dye your hair another deep colour like purple or blue. That would look awesome with black tips
Hmm, how does purple react to dark brown hair though? I tried dying it all dark brown, and that lasted for like a week lol. my hair doesn't hold color for anything. We should have a one year party at someone's house since it's at the same time lol
Well different textures and types of dyes all factor in. The hair needs to be bleached first even if you have naturally light coloured hair. It causes the scales on your hair needs to be ragged and to be able to hold the dye well. Then there's the factor of the type of dye, manic panic, to me is very cheaply made and won't last long such as special effects or punky colour. Time is another factor, directions may say 30 mins tops but give it like 40 minutes and rinse with cold water to settle the dye. Hot water just washes the colour away and keeps it as a coatin instead of letting the dye grab onto the scales of your hair. Also the party sounds cool but I live on the west coast....
Yay 5 months! Thats three of us then... A party would be awesome but i think im on the other side of the world to you in england! Dreads are looking good
I think that's the problem with forums like these, we get so close knit about such topics that we feel like we don't live to far away. It would be fantastic to collaborate a meetup but something like that just seems impossible. Thekarthika how are your dreadlocks doing? were you able to dye them? also are you growing in length or still shrinking. I remember when we all just started, I was so stoked to see how everyone's journey went. It has definitely changed a lot in the past couple months.
They're doing pretty well! I haven't noticed much shrinking, but the top dreads have a bit! I haven't dyed them, I just kept it, it's not that bad but I will eventually. ALSO this is unrelated but I <3 body mod and I finally got the courage to do this
