The only thing I know about cars is what Ive had to do to keep mine running. As far as transmissions go. If you are looking for A to B rather than a performance vehicle.......a rebuild and someone who can be handy with a wrench, can save you 100's of dollars. Tranny's are easy, as long as you don't let people rip you off

i'd no-op it, sell to a scrap yard, take the 50bux or whatever they give me for it, and ride the bus.

for $3800.00 i could buy one hella computer system and proffessional 3d software to go with it. might even be some b.l.m. land out in the middle of some desert or swamp some where i could get, and would seriosly consider getting, if i had my hand on something like that amount.

i would definately at least upgrade what i have now with more ram and a faster cpu. then think about the low end of desk top milling machines, surplus stereo lithography tanks, or other 'rapid prototyping' periferals.

or if i already had a piece of land somewhere, well i can think of all sorts of wonderful tools and materials i could play with it with.

i'd certainly subscribe to some sort of broadband connection, something i don't have now.

cars, cars, cars = crap, crap, crap. excuse me for not worshipping little green pieces of paper. or buying into expecting to find gratification by trying to impress anyone.

    =^^=

That's probably right on. I just put a rebuilt in my P/U and it was $1200.

I would definately search for a transmission, if you don't find one you might be better off buying a used car, that's rediculous.

Yeah. :) It's still a big chunk of change but I feel much better about paying that then the original price, which I found out wasn't a rebuilt transmission but a refurbished one from a dealership. I feel relieved today cause now I know what I'm gonna do about this situation.
