They are carbine rifles, Not 'assault rifles', To be so you have to have select fire. Semi auto is a carbine rifle, Just because it looks like death coming, Its only 'looks'.

You can convert any semi auto to full. I had a 9mm sidearm that was full auto at one time. Hell you don't even need to convert them if you know you're weapon and bump fire it. I have done that with my SKS many times.
But the only downfall of and reason its not real practical is one, You blow through a magazine/$20 bucks in a few seconds. Two, You can hit shit with full auto, You will spray the area. Best bet is three round burst as it only rides up and once you know you rifle, You will get 3 shot in the kill zone.

It comes down to preference and what you want. I would rather have a sawed off 12ga. as the are the simplest to use and do the most damage possible in one round.

My position on gun bans: Not a good idea, probably ineffective. The only thing I was an advocate for were better backround checks that are consistently enforced nationwide (including online sales).
