So they don't sell anything?

 

that's the first Haupt painting.

it's Oils on Panel. i started painting it a week or so after the whole b-fly thing went down, and it really had put me in an odd mindset. I didn't know him personally, but from a professional standpoint he was top notch. It all reminded me that this IS the real world we live in, and unfortunately is not some beautiful psychedelic dream; somebody sold the wrong product KNOWINGLY and people died so some asshole could make a living.

i'll apologize for saying this in advance, but if he was such a top notch business man, wouldn't he have know he had the wrong product and not distributed any of it? i understand (i think) that someone above him mixed it up, but if he was truly top notch, he would have caught it.

And to the person who asked if he sold stuff. Yes, he did. Thats what he did though, through a business. When you "deal" things its more on a personal level I think. I wouldn't call safeway or hyvee food dealers...

 

Stuff like that must be tested first to check purity and obviously to confirm you are selling right stuff to avoid things like this. Mistakes can cause very bad things but can be avoided quite easy. I can't see how this could have happened.... there where cases where vendor selling substance A and substance B accidentally sends substance A instead B (this should not happen but same way bulk vendor fucks up something but then comes testing cuz safety of consumers should be priority) .... but getting something that shouldn't even be in vendor's stock...fucked up..

It's very sad what happened to Haupt and to few people he sold that stuff... ..

all humans make mistakes, yes. but good distributors don't make that kinda mistake. that's all i'm saying. not that he deserved what happened, not that he wasn't a great guy (i didn't know him), but MAYBE he wasn't the best business man. i guess i would place more of the blame on whoever he got the bromoDFLY from, but HE could have tested it, before sending shipments off all over the world. i realize most vendors probably don't do this, but they should. and since they don't, they are kinda sucky businesses.

and honestly, i don't like how people "glamorize" the dead. probably not the right word, but here's an example. a kid i knew in college, complete "gangsta" asshole coke dealer. robbed people, mistreated women, yadda yadda, just an all around dick. i never liked him. he died in a car accident - he was driving drunk. i'm still not saying he deserved it, and yea it sucks, especially for his family and friends, but it doesn't change who he was in life - a fuckin asshole.

again - i'm not saying this about haupt. maybe he was a good guy. maybe he was a fuckin jerk. i didn't know him. but after everything that happened, i'm pretty confident he wasn't the BEST vendor.

that's always bothered me as well, but haupt REALLY did take one for the team here. of course he fucked up, but it served as a reality check for a lot of people...myself included.

Don't be scared. Your dealing with research chems man. This kinda thing could happen to any of these chems. Or like that fentanyl analog that turned out to cause parkinsons syndrome immediately. If you are scared of that, be scared of everrryyythinnggggg.

yeah before when I first ordered from him, I had the impression that he was some middle aged guy in his 30s...

I can't believe he was only 22 years old though, and even though it wasn't totally his fault he definitely didn't deserve it... but when some scumbag asshole dies, I couldn't really give a fuck at all.
