Search and rescue has been activated but they haven't heard from them in hours. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/08/us-malaysiaairlines-flight-idUSBREA2701720140308
The airline is already contacting next of kin, so it is assumed all lives on board were lost. But yeah, strange description of the incident. The airline claims to have just "lost contact" with the airplane. That is about as vague as you can be, no?
Apparently, no crashes have been reported. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles...0001424052702304554004579425881625707674.html This sounds weird. It crashed. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/08/us-malaysiaairlines-flight-idUSBREA2701720140308
I heard contact was lost 120 miles off the coast of Vietnam, so they're in the water. That's not good. I haven't gotten much information, just screen crawls. This time of night all the cable news channels have shows on like Lockup or Hannity, but no news.
They still haven't found it and they are pulling back on the "crashed" story and back to saying "presumably crashed"
I was listening to the news an hour ago and apparently they were due to land 13-14 hours ago. And that they only had 7 hours of fuel. So at this point they are down somewhere.
Isn't there something of a crashing mishap for connection in this new millennium with the whole planet: like a Tsunami warning? The laws of Nature should be bound by the distinction not relevant to human's being frail or fallible.?
QUOTE: This was the modern world talking though; I've got to admit: "Our hope is that the people understand we are being as transparent as we can, we are giving information as quickly as we can, but we want to make sure information has been verified."
Yeah, I was watching Lock Up last night and it kept cutting into this. In any case, very weird that it was that type of plane in great weather and they just lost contact w no mayday given or anything. I am sure they crashed but I kept thinking, it's like they just disappeared...and who really knows what happened... anyways, very sad.
Interestingly 2 tickets for that flight have been sold to persons traveling with stolen passports, one Austrian and one Italian. Both passports were stolen in Thailand. http://www.scmp.com/news/asia/artic...sed-buy-two-tickets-malaysia-airlines-missing
