No. I'm suggesting that the U.S. has been conditioned for decades to think "Socialism bad, other countries wrong". I'm thinking of the Democrats in the next election, and the prospect of four more years of Trump--the abyss.

P.S. Those programs suit me fine, and I think the Dems might get by with pushing one or two of them for 2020. But first things first. Too many changes can be overwhelming to the average voter.
And ditch the Socialist label. Think mixed economy. Here’s my plan for Democrats to beat Donald Trump: Try having fewer plans

I dont disagree with this. Address the most urgent issues first then slowly introduce other policies when Americans see that we arent going to end up standing in breadlines if we put our citizens interests first

And I dont like the term socialist either but to be fair Bernie Sanders would still be labeled a socialist by the right wing even if he had never used the term democratic socialist. Like I mentioned earlier, Obama was slandered with the socialist label too

That's no guarantee for success, but might be a guarantee for failure.

  8. You might as well be a right winger, then, if leftist policy is completely worthless to you.

What is worthless is nominating a marginal candidate.
Come on man. You live in Iowa. Do you seriously think that voters there would vote for Sanders over trump?

Leaving the 1% firmly ensconced as they are will not work !

Is your candidate talking about anything or whatever someone throws out in order to avoid the horrible issue of wealth inequality in the US ?
Fact , just before the Great Depression 25% of America's wealth was held by just 1% of the population.
Fact, today 20% of America's wealth is held by just 1% of the population and it's rising rapidly.

America's wealthiest family the Walton family of Walmart have growth rate of 70,000 per minute, 4 million per hour or 100 million per day. The family's wealth now stands @ 191 Billion.

A similar story is unfolding around the world as just 25 families control 1.4 Trillion. Obviously what's happening around the globe is one thing but what happens here is something we can do something about but only when and if we as a nation make a decision to change the status quo.

The US bond yield curve has inverted . An inverted yield curve means long term debt has a lower yield than short term debt.
This rarest of curve types is usually a precursor to recession.

Now , what's likely to happen ? First watch Jerome Powell begin to squirm changing his tone regarding the probability of rate cuts . In fact another cut in rates is on the way , this time perhaps 50 basis points although 25 seems to have the inside track.

This is the real reason why the FED so desperately wanted to get back to normal rates. They have no ammunition against another collapse with rates at 0 other than to take them negative which remains likely.

Watch how fast we get to 0 from here .

Bernie gets it but more than that he has a plan filled with ideas complete with answers.

Others offer platitudes and empty rhetoric .

Latest Fox News Poll still has Biden in the lead but Warren is now in second place leapfrogging over Sanders

If the election was held today Biden would beat Trump by 12 points, Sanders would beat Trump by 9 (48-39), and Warren would beat Trump by 7 (46-39)

In other words: Trump is in deep shit

  20. It's kind of like, though, "See what happens when you don't vote for the lesser of two evils?" I think people have learned their lesson, somewhat. Though still not sure I'd have preferred...no, no way. I could never have stood Hillary Clinton this long. The thing about Hillary is that her camp didn't give a flying fuck about the people, either.

Biden is somewhat better. But thank God Bernie Sanders came along and put real life changing policies on everyone's agenda. Bernie is always saying, though, we need to take all of these people on (the fossil fuel industry, big pharma, the NRA, etc.) and he's the only one who would actually do it. Biden's in their pocket, too. So what are you gonna do in the long run.

Still, I'll take Biden over Trump.
