No, it's bigger than that. It's full National Sovereignty. They can issue license plates, property titles, marriage permits, and restaurant inspections. It's just like they are a free people all over a sudden. It's like the whites never killed their people, forced them to leave Indiana and Ohio, and never forced them to accept Jesus. I think it was Emma Goldman (a sort-of repentent communist) who said something like "the problem with you Americans is that you think the solution to every problem is to have an election." What happens if we have an election, Trump loses, but Trumpism is still alive and well, with Trump himself sitting out there stoking the fires waiting for 2024. I expect a hell of a battle between the Trumpites and the Never-Trumpers in 2022 and 2024 for control of the party. Or if Trump should somehow be re-elected but Democrats win control of the Senate and keep control of the House, Trump will be impeached again but still not removed from office because there are still not enough Republicans in the Senate who will vote for impeachment to get the two-thirds votes required (66) to remove him.

Elections are meaningless without the norms to support them. In the past, there's at least been consensus on those. One reason Trump and Trumpism are so dangerous is that they've chipped away at those norms. The alternative is violence and anarchy.
