Do you see Wall Street and Broad sharing the trillions with anyone ? They define the 1% better than anyone else in America.
If anything that money is flowing into the Caymans a great place to hide wealth.

Today a strong company is one that can borrow money at 0% and buy back it's own shares then collect year end bonuses from that company because the share price has appreciated so much.

Manipulation of this sort produces no intrinsic value and yet reaps the highest reward in a Crony-Capitalist economy such as ours. It's also illegal in many countries.

The sound of champagne corks popping is deafening .

It doesn't matter what they want, because the machines are already replacing the bankers and traders. Rupert Murdock and all the others will have to bow down before AI. Part of my work involves making it faster and more efficient. Their money is merely a distribution system, and the computers will control it all. Some 90% of the world economy is entirely in speculation, and nobody can beat the fucking computers, which will take over more than just the economy. Most idiots working a 9-5 could not care less who is pulling the strings, so long as they benefit the most, but I'm certain there will tears and fond memories of people like Murdock.

One AI to rule them all, and in the darkness, bind them!

Get ready for rate cuts !
Jerome Powell in his remarks at the OMC eased away form previous language regarding interest rates. The Fed also lowered it's targets for 2020.

Is there anyone here that remembers the wild hysterical predictions of economic boom if we passed a tax cut ? It did not happen ! To be fair it actually did create a short term ripple but has since dissipated and now things are cooling rather substantially.

Is there anyone here that remembers Quantitative Easing being heralded as the Fed action that would restore the American economy ? It did not !

Now the Fed's new language indicates a return to rate cuts and easing which is an admission it's prior methods , ten years of zero rates and balance sheet expansion, has not worked ! Yet it is about to say that same policy must be repeated again. Now we're about to repeat this same failed policy of propping up Wall Street and major banks with cash infusions then going on the evening news to proclaim a new era of prosperity for all.

At the end of the day it also means the policy ahead dis- incentivizes saving while economists and financial advisors complain about a low savings rate.

Did it ? I'm not at all sure about that.

Fact- Clinton was a miserable candidate even when these factors are off the table. She was disingenuous, cool and aloof and it was hard for her to show genuine warmth on the trail which she wasn't on nearly enough.

Fact- by the time she was the nominee most rank and file supporters knew that she, the press and Wassermann Schultz had engineered her win and stolen the nomination from Bernie Sanders who was and is her intellectual superior.

Fact- it was also a well known fact that Clinton was way to close to Goldman Sachs and Wall Street for the liking of main street Democrats.

There's much , much more but you get the point .

The old adage is that democrats are always attempting to create dynasties. We had two Bushes, but if democrats had their way they would put someone in office who represents entrenched wealth more than Obama, and is much whiter. Hillary fit the bill, but has all the charisma of a grade school teacher. Her daughter does not seem the least bit interested in politics, other than playing the role of princess. Assassinating dynasties is an American pastime.

  10. No argument there, but Bernie is nowhere near as cunning as the Clinton Machine. He may have been good on paper as a theorist, but she has many more miles behind her of practical ass kicking and corpse disposal. I'll bet she has threatened far more world leaders than Bernie ever would. Biden has a similar resume, he's a mild-mannered thug. But he knows how to talk his way out of a corner, Hillary runs and hides.

Of course both parties represent entrenched wealth however the Democrats do a better job of railing against it while coddling them at the same time as opposed to Republicans who are open with courting big business.

It's six of one / half dozen of the other.

  13. The world doesn't need thugs.

I remember the night of the election, when people were still certain, due to the polls, that Hillary was going to win. She was considered a shoo-in. Everyone was appalled when Trump won state after state, and I remember people even complaining about the polls being so wrong. Polls are just a part of the mainstream media's propaganda campaign to steer elections. That much is completely transparent.

    Agreed !
Most polls are done in partnership with the major talking head news organizations so since I don't trust the news media why would I trust any of their polls.
IMO it's all just so much horse*********** !

We'll never know for sure, but there are reasons to think that the Comey letter hurt her big time.

4 pieces of evidence showing FBI Director James Comey cost Clinton the election
FBI letter 'almost certainly' cost Hillary Clinton the election

Even at that, she got almost 3 million popular votes more than Trump. Not bad for such a miserable candidate.

Fine. Live in your bubble. Many polls are conducted by reputable outfits like Gallup and Harris whose reputation depends on results. To dismiss them as propaganda is foolish, since by and large they have a good batting average.

You haven't seen the latest polls (including an exclusive FOX News poll) he couldn't be elected county dogcatcher ..lol...

  19. I don't buy that Comey lost her the election. What lost her the election was how they/she treated Bernie. And how they propped up Trump. It was their own doing. She lost because she was simply not a good candidate for president. You probably liked her, so you can't understand how much others hated her. She was so utterly fake.

All we do is talk about polls anymore. It's idiotic.

Precisely Neon I couldn't possibly have said it better. Polls, poll, polls and they don't mean squat.

I remember an early 2012 poll showing ( Patent leather dandy ) Mittens Romney 16 points ahead of Obama in battleground states. I still laugh about that one when I think about it.
Polls are just something else to make a buck with and get you glued to the boob tube , fatten up the news cycle with advertising revenue.

    Wall Street's running this show.
