To put it in perspective though, Chris Brown has 5 times more followers than Joe Biden does

Well, it's little wonder he is sparse for followers with tweets like this

"If we are complacent, if we are silent, we are complicit in perpetuating these cycles of violence. None of us can turn away. We all have an obligation to speak out."

    Annoyingly vague

Dude also currently has his avatar set with a picture of him wearing a face mask

.....soooooo he doesn't catch the bat virus from Twitter?

Dude needs a team of media advisors or to sack and replace his current lot

Yeah, considering that public policy is now made via twitter, and government officials learn via twitter whether or not they're still employed, following his tweets is almost a necessity for them. And there is the entertainment factor, wondering what new outrage he'll tweet in the wee hours of the morning. The presidency as reality show, by the guy who made "You're Fired" a household word. There's hope Biden will restore some dignity to the Oval Office.

The point was more that Geriatric Joe has a lame not even 6 million followers, you have to get his people to spice things up a bit

    Ok so teach me.

What can America do that has an effect on Australia? How do our elections change your policy? No matter who is in charge you are going to have access to the same goods. if anything Republican like Trump is more likely to make those costs more costly to you.

What does America need from Australia that we can not produce ourselves?

We have a friendly diplomatic relationship because we all speak English and have background of being a British colony. That does not mean elections change that relationship.

Maybe what I said came off as nasty. But VG is often full of it.

Why do you put more emphasis on face masks as opposed to how often the same person washes their hands?

When someone is as visible as him the optics matter. It would help to see him wash his hands too! :)

You will need a certain level of protectionism ( even if only in the short term) to help reboot the US economy

Protectionism means making stuff made outside your country dearer so companies inside your country can compete and hire more people

Biden gets in, he'll just end up handing more of your country over to China. Trump won't
We want what Trump wants, limit influence of the world's biggest communist country

May 17 to 20, 2 weeks old, and it's gone back up again, and probably will go up further over the next month as it's mostly liberals running around setting fire to everything at the moment

Also, if there is another spike in Covid cases, everyone will blame the protesters this time...and at the same time restrictions will keep getting lifted as many of those state governors realise they are running out of money and now have a police force too scared to arrest most people anyway

This shows you don't understand American politics at all and have decided to pick a team identity. As you said yourself Australia is powerless to do anything and does not have economic power. So your best hope is to depend on the powerful to fix it.

You have said it's good to be nationalist in a nice way. Nationalism leads to racism and tribalism.

China is not a partisan issue. Everyone would prefer Americans have good wages and jobs. The reason they have power is MUCH more the case of Republican polices than Democratic. For example which party would support no minimum wage, no unions, and supporting the 1% job creator over labor as a whole?

Which party gets the support of local unions. It's almost always the Democratic party.

The auto industry and coal are probably the top 2 that MAGA cultists bitch about. If only those would come back. So why is one of those industries not for Trump? GM builds in Mexico too. It would seem they are not very American. They are for profit over labor so actuly the most American way to live.

United Auto Workers union endorses Biden for president

Labor is in China because America likes a system where the corporate elite find the cheapest labor possible. America is bad because there are taxes and labor laws. In China your labor works for less and longer.

If you were really concerned about Australia you would want Americans to have high wages and worker's rights. You would not get cult caught up in the cult of personality. America is not communist so you get better deals. The freedom discount. We all hate the British conquers.

We do have a history of doing that with China it seems to me...

But I think that Biden is showing some interest in turning over a new leaf. His stated policies on his webpage seem somewhat liberal; which is good.

One example of his attitude changing from the status quo to something new is him revoking oil subsidies - which means no tax break for drilling costs and stuff. It's good stuff. I actually wrote to my representative (House of Representatives) about the very same thing (oil subsidies)! It's kind of exciting to see it take shape so quickly.

Biden would get rid of subsidies for oil, gas companies
