you and trump have something else in common, deflection. Trump is in charge of an economy in shambles. You better hope he can revive it. If not, President Xi has a job waiting for you in Wuhan.

This is debate? I will naively assume the moderator of this forum has not yet seen this, as it has not been censored. Or does that rule not apply if the target is Trump?

Joe Biden is stupid and will not be elected by the Electoral College.

EDIT: ALL APOLOGIES - I seem to have lost track of the post this post was replying to. Now I don't even know if Balbus has recently discussed corporate spending in politics.

What I meant to reply about had something to do with a back and forth about lack of debate vs. mod overreach.

So I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong thread!

    @Balbus

I seem to recall the issue of corporations having sway with government via donations to campaigns being something to do with a case heard in U.S.A.'s courts with the words Citizens United in the case. I was so sure that it was about campaign donations from corporate entities. But when I look it up... bupkis.

Oh wait no... here it is. I see it.

Citizens United v. FEC - Wikipedia

The article is from Wikipedia though, so I don't know... maybe not credible?

The Daily Telegraph is ok right of centre, but I would hardly put it in the same camp as the Institute of Public Affairs in Australia. This is a right wing think-tank that is totally out of touch. My sister was a reporter and sub-editor the Telegraph. After reporting on legislation for GMO's she got threatening phone calls from Monsanto. They only left her alone after she told them she had already submitted her report and she could not change it even if she wanted to. Later she moved to The Times as a subbie. One Monday morning quite un-expectantly she found herself redundant and so took early retirement. Digging her garden she told me that journalism is not an occupation she would recommend anyone go in to. I could not even see a local newspaper in her house.

Why do you think Rand is any good? I mean that’s the jerk that thought he had covid – ‘But while he waited for the results, he kept going to work, the gym, and the pool’

Rand Paul Has More Than a Cold

As to right wing libertarianism frankly it does not stand up well to scrutiny, I suggest you read a few threads in the Libertarian forum and see how those ideas fall flat on their face over and over again.

Trump is not doing good in the polls. His own team just called a meeting because they think his prospect of re-election looks dismal. I'm American and I'm not going to vote for Trump.

I don't want to debate anything with a Trump supporter from Australia. What would be the point? I want to DEBATE THE 2020 ELECTION as per the headline for this thread. VG is more interested in ruffling American feathers than in an honest debate. Why not present your concerns to him, instead of just to the local Democrat? Why don't we compare and contrast things here?

I wonder if he has orange spray painted masks, and orange ties to go along with them for formal occasions?

In all seriousness, I wonder why he won't wear one... It would go pretty far to show how a person ought to behave about something as serious as an international pandemic (is that redundant? :D).

Anyway, we can disregard his position and wear one anyway individually. But where does that leave us collectively? We're not all doing the same things. Some people don't wear a mask, and when I see them, I can't help but think they must be affiliated.

He is a narcissist, and capitulating to something he doesn't want to do is considered a weakness by most narcissists.

That's so weird, foreign, and not motivated by intelligence to me... It'd be different if there were a justification or something. No... no, I guess it wouldn't. I take it back. :D
