I read the other day the mortality rate by influenza is .2%, compared to 2% for the coronavirus.
Dont quote me on that though, I'm pulling those numbers out of my head from a few days ago, I'll have to double check.
And of course that's taking into account an average of all strains of influenza every season, the mortality rate could vary widely from season to season

 

I see. So there is definitely (possibly - ) cause for concern. I don't think it should be downplayed at all.

People need to wash their hands! And use the hand sanitizer that every retail counter ever seems to offer.

Corona has a higher mortality rate than the flu, though obviously it's killed fewer people thus far. But it's just getting started. It's going to spread across the entire planet, and two out of one hundred people dying isn't pretty any way you look at it.

It's going to kill Trump's presidential hopes as well, as no one wants this guy as their caretaker when they get sick. You'd have to be nuts to put Trump and Pence in charge of your health. So that's the bright side......

Do the conversions for all the types of jobs listed in that article. I mean pay rates ain't bad, but they aren't exactly super exciting

And I would assume seasonal agriculture work is for a shorter period, or at least a damn sight colder

 

Protect yourself from 'Flu, colds and Corovid -19 by drinking alcohol !!! - doesn't have to be a lot - just a tiny tipple once a day. I add a tiny tot to my coffee first thing (circa 06.30ish) most days and so far I haven't had a cough, a cold, 'flu and most certainly not corovid -19.

Was in another forum and someone said 'beak' (I think that's slang for cocaine) keeps you from getting sick. I don't agree.

For the agriculture, I think it says that there are different rates depending on how long you've been working at it.

 

What do Hospitals, Doctors surgeries and other health organisations mainly use as a cleaning and disinfectant agent - ALCOHOL !!!

Yes, but how do you kill off the germs you've ingested ??? - which is why I add Brandy to my coffee in the morning - just a tiny tot - its all that's needed.
