When Irv Rubin was running the Jewish Defense League their stats were higher than Muslim terror groups. I don't know about the recent stats.

I remember when Irv Rubin & the JDL tried to knock off Darrel Issa of California.

  5. Right, as long as men open the door and get out of the way. Which has been happening for decades. It's this weird desire for instant gratification that brought us Obama in the first place. Everybody wanted to "make history" instead of letting it happen organically. He was propped up at the perfect time since nobody wanted to see Hillary in the top seat (even though she was substantially more experienced that Obama) and people would have voted for an iguana to keep McCain out f the white house.

As for being "more suited", what exactly does that mean? How would such a thing be measured? I've seen various groups and lecturers suggesting that men need to step aside and just hand it all over. It's like a 3rd grader kind of fantasy that has nothing to do with equality or trying to live together and everything to do with dominance.

"Power isn't something I give you, REAL power is something you take" - John Ross Sr.

Don't expect to "demand" your way into success with this. Better to make it a team effort. I put my wife through college, twice, so she'd be able to take care of herself after I croak (something men tend to do earlier than women). I saw how employers treated my mother in the 60s and 70s. I didn't want that for my wife and I won't have it for my daughter, who is much smarter than me anyway.

    I actuall
I agree with this, to an extent. I believe that women are as qualified as men for many jobs, but not all, and that a woman should be paid the same as a man for the same job.
I also agree in merit based rewards.
I've worked for men, and women. Some good, some bad.
Bottom line is that power corrupts.

  7. Power invites corruption, but I'm more inclined to think that the corrupt in power were always corrupt in their being. As for being paid the same, there is no convenient way to weigh this. Same as our justice system. Just because people are demographically and educationally equal, how they do in a job interview and how they negotiate their compensation becomes a very individual issue. There are no standard wages for a standard job title because job titles have morphed into composites of the 3 actual skills employers expect all of us to have. If you both have 2/3, that last 1/3 might make all the difference. Say, a skill in LMS software or carving melons into riverboats.

It's just as impossible to say that two different people who got speeding tickets should pay the same amount. Judges take far more than that into account, so while there are sentencing guidelines, a defendant's record of prior offenses, employment status, child support status etc. will all be weighed to determine a course of action. Also, if you're a dick or stupid with the judge, you'll end up paying more. I'm amazed when I see people pull the "tough guy" act, on a judge.

    Maybe a hidden personality trait.
You know I've worked with people seemed like a good person, but once they got a promotion, that power went to their head.

  9. Bingo! It's why I didn't stay in the military. Imagine being on a ship filled with Dr. Jekylls who go pure Hyde when the promotions list is posted.

You need a vacation on a beach. I read that there is a nice beach on a New Zealand island.

yep... From my old Sociology textbook from 3 or more years ago
    and

This excerpt is from a section on who commits crime, but it puts a familiar context around the issue of gender in society. Crime, and especially violent crime is overwhelmingly committed by men! :) 6 and VG know that though because I have posted it before.

see... They are over simplifying in the quote below the chart, but it is effective for communicating the main idea. What I mean is, it's not just that we socialize boys as aggressive and girls as passive, but many many more factors that play into outcomes. Like football on television! :)
