Wow, an "expert" says the record 195,000 cases a day means it's spreading faster and broader than ever before

Well, fuck, lucky we have that "expert" around, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to work that out by ourselves ( even though faster isn't actually technically true)

Several videos of wild scenes at Shanghai Pudong Airport have emerged after workers tested positive to the coronavirus on Sunday night.

The Global Times reported that several cargo handlers and their close contacts tested positive to COVID-19 on Sunday.

Authorities introduced mandatory coronavirus testing of all its staff, with flights into Shanghai largely cancelled on Sunday night. Airport workers were asked to be tested, beginning around 3pm, an airport employee told the Global Times.

These long lines of people waiting hours to be tested for COVID-19 - crazy.

I get tested once a week and the average waiting time is about 4 minutes.

 

The government quango called Public Health England announced a few weeks ago that it was combining Covid and Flu numbers from then on (I don't recall them saying why they were doing this, but at the time it seemed a little odd to me). Since then we've seen steadily increasing numbers bandied about on the TV news (both BBC and ITV) that reflect the fact that it's the beginning of Flu season here in the UK.

However, nothing is mentioned about this, so everyone assumes that the rise in the infection numbers being mentioned are of Covid alone. I seriously wonder why this disinformation is being repeated by news outlets that pride themselves on being strictly truthful in their reporting?

The truth will eventually come out of course, but it may be years down the line before it does. So be patient and all will be revealed ...one day!

 

US sets record for Covid-19 hospitalizations amid fall surge

There are 88,080 people currently hospitalized with Covid-19, setting a record for hospitalizations amid a continuing fall surge, according to the Covid Tracking Project.

This is the highest number of Covid-19 hospitalizations the nation has ever experienced since the pandemic hit the US.

Hospital systems around the country have been warning their staffing and ICU bed capacity are being stretched thin. Pennsylvania's top health official warned Monday the state could run out of ICU beds within a week.

In Minneapolis, a doctor tearfully told CNN about caring for five Covid-19 patients the last time she worked. Two were sent to hospice care, and another -- a woman in her 80s -- died as her husband, also a patient, watched, she said.

With Hospitalizations setting daily records in the US, coupled with thanksgiving holiday travel, in a month those 11, 720 deaths today will pale in comparison

Why so few deaths when compared to earlier in the year when there would have been closer to 200.
Well the average age of those testing positive is 20 years younger, better therapeutics, and less people
placed on ventilators which doctors now understand is the kiss of death.

A Canadian restaurant owner just gave new meaning to dine and dash.

Adam Skelly, the owner of the Toronto eatery Adamson Barbecue, was taken into custody on Thursday for flouting COVID-19 restrictions, reported CTV News.

The 33-year-old restaurateur has pledged not to shutter his business despite local coronavirus lockdown regulations in Toronto that prohibit indoor dining.

After a third day of defying COVID-19 rules, Skelly was handcuffed amid a group of his supporters — predominantly not wearing facial masks — who swarmed officers and shouted for their hero’s release
