    Lets see

Massachusetts; 1346 new cases Oct 29th

Most number of cases in a day since May 12th

Record for that state was 2977 cases in one day on April 17th

It took 16 days back in April to go from 1330 new cases on the 1st of April, to 2977 new cases on April 17th

Another stay at home order may be in the offering if things continue to decline, and numbers continue to rise.

The Boston Marathon which was scheduled for Patriot’s Day in April has already been cancelled for a second year in a row by the BAA (The Boston Athletic Association)

Well these are the figures for Manchester in the UK, who as you know have been in a lockdown of sorts for a while

    Covid-19 cases dashboard - GMHSC

Back in March/ April it was national lockdowns and each country was only dealing with initial infections you could count on a dozen hands, and it was Spring for the top half of the world

If they really wanted to contain it in Massachusetts, it should have been a state wide lockdown and it should have started a month ago and lasted for 6 months

Local, or "firebreak" lockdowns for only a couple of weeks are going to be totally useless

U.S. reports nearly 100,000 new cases in one day as infections surge in battleground states

The United States reported nearly 100,000 new coronavirus cases in a day on Friday, setting a record as a fall wave of infections surge in every swing state that will be crucial to next week’s presidential election.

The number of infections nationwide surpassed 9 million reported infections on Friday, just 15 days after the tally hit 8 million.

I found this far more disturbing than the numbers

Trump Baslessly Accuses Doctors Of Overreporting Covid Deaths For Financial Gain

President Donald Trump repeated an unfounded accusation at a campaign rally in Michigan on Friday, asserting U.S. doctors are misrepresenting the number of coronavirus fatalities
because they receive "like $2,000 more" if they report Covid-19 as the cause of a patient's death, a baseless charge that has angered many in the medical community.

How is it baseless if they do get more funding for covid?

They don't get $2000 personally, but their institution s do get extra beds, wards assigned Covid only etc, field hospitals....

This argument has been going on since April

Another left wing media beat up

Doctors and Nurses are our front-line of defense for Covid-19.

To accuse them of essentially price gouging the government by listing the cause of death as covid-19 for personal financial gain (or their institution)
is tantamount to accusing them of thievery or breaking their Hippocratic oath.

From back in April, and from MSN

    "Our ruling: True

We rate the claim that hospitals get paid more if patients are listed as COVID-19 and on ventilators as TRUE.

Hospitals and doctors do get paid more for Medicare patients diagnosed with COVID-19 or if it's considered presumed they have COVID-19 absent a laboratory-confirmed test, and three times more if the patients are placed on a ventilator to cover the cost of care and loss of business resulting from a shift in focus to treat COVID-19 cases."

Just because Donald Trump is motivated by pure greed and nothing else, doesn't follow that everyone else is as well.

Besides I suspect you had to go all the way back to April to locate that article, because the stimulus money which funded
that program and that congress approved has long since dried up.

Coronavirus: Spain's funeral homes strike as cases rise

Staff at funeral homes in Spain have gone on strike to demand more workers as coronavirus deaths continue to rise.

Unions say more staff are needed to prevent the delay in burials that was seen during the first wave of the pandemic in March.

Europe is grappling with a second wave as cases and deaths continue to rise.

A number of countries have introduced new measures such as curfews and lockdowns to try and bring infection rates down.

At least 31 states set their one-day coronavirus case records in October
Updated 6:32 PM ET, Sun November 1, 2020

October was a month of grim records in the Covid-19 pandemic, and as November begins, experts say the United States hasn't seen the worst of it.

From Alaska to Maine, at least 31 states across the US reported at least one record-high day of new coronavirus cases in the past month, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Fifteen reported their highest one-day tallies of Covid-19 deaths.

The country's seven-day average of new daily cases was 78,380 Saturday -- a number that has risen 128.2% since a post-summer-surge low on September 12. With any potential vaccine still a ways off from distribution, and the colder months threatening to increase spread, experts emphasize more people need to regularly take precautions to stem the rise anytime soon.

"It's the way we protect our neighbors and our communities. And we need to avoid crowds. We have to socially distance. You can't go to a mass gathering now. We need to lower our viral footprint," Dr. Jonathan Reiner, professor of medicine at George Washington University,
