Took the geniuses at the WHO 10 months to work out how many people are going to starve to death

Coronavirus: WHO backflips on virus stance by condemning lockdowns

The World Health Organisation has backflipped on its original COVID-19 stance after calling for world leaders to stop locking down their countries and economies.

Dr. David Nabarro from the WHO appealed to world leaders yesterday, telling them to stop “using lockdowns as your primary control method” of the coronavirus.

He also claimed that the only thing lockdowns achieved was poverty – with no mention of the potential lives saved

For some of us who have had the virus it's about time the WHO came on side with us ,as many of us have been saying for some time that Lock downs don't work and favour the minority too much. People need to get on with their lives as much as possible and start rebuilding our economies and restoring our freedoms otherwise with the current cycle of Virus, Lockdown, virus, lockdown .......There will be nothing left to rebuild unless this cycle is broken

VG your a star in finding this

A Coronavirus Vaccine Could Kill Half A Million Sharks, Conservationists Warn

A conservation group is warning that the development of an effective coronavirus vaccine on a global scale could ravage shark populations worldwide, as researchers race to produce a vaccine using an oil derived from sharks.

Squalene, a compound that is harvested from the livers of sharks, is a common moisturizing ingredient in cosmetics. It's also used in malaria and flu vaccines as an agent that boosts the immune system's response.

Shark Allies, a nonprofit that advocates for the protection of sharks, projects that some 500,000 sharks could be killed if a coronavirus vaccine with shark squalene proves to be effective. Already, an estimated 2.7 million sharks are killed annually for their squalene.

"The problem is that squalene, used as an ingredient in a COVID-19 vaccine, will be seen as something that's unavoidable, and then as it becomes tested, it becomes the normal ingredient, and nothing else will be tested,"

Coronavirus vaccine: ‘Unexpected illness’ halts Johnson & Johnson trial

COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials by Johnson & Johnson in the US have come to a halt after a participant developed an “unexplained illness”.

In a statement, the pharmaceutical giant said further dosing in all COVID-19 candidate vaccine clinical trials had been “temporarily paused”.

This includes phase three of its Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies trial called “Ensemble”, involving up to 60,000 volunteers across three continents.

Hmm so immunity may not last very long?

Covid reinfection: Man gets Covid twice and second hit 'more severe'

A man in the United States has caught Covid twice, with the second infection becoming far more dangerous than the first, doctors report.

The 25-year-old needed hospital treatment after his lungs could not get enough oxygen into his body.

Just a few cases out of 37,000,000 so what are the commonalities between patients?

Andrews facing growing revolt from business leaders, lawyers, doctors, politicians

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews is being squeezed from all sides as he prepares to announce changes to COVID-19 lockdown laws that have crippled businesses and kept Melburnians trapped inside their homes for months.

The Premier will have woken this morning to news that his electorate office was vandalised — the words “Sack Dan” were spray-painted on the windows of the Noble Park building.

But he would also be well aware of the mounting pressure a range of industries

People with blood type O may have lower risk of COVID-19, new studies reveal

People with blood type O may be less vulnerable to COVID-19 and have a reduced likelihood of getting severely ill, according to two studies published yesterday.

The research provides further evidence that blood type may play a role in a person's susceptibility to infection and their chance of having a severe bout of the disease.

The reasons for this link aren't clear and more research is needed to say what implications, if any, it has for patients

The numbers continue to climb here in the US as well...………….

U.S. sees over 69,000 new virus cases – the most in a single day since July

The United States has now seen its highest number of new COVID-19 cases since July, with more than 69,000 new cases reported nationwide on Friday.

In Wisconsin, one in every four coronavirus tests are coming back positive. Residents are being asked to avoid gatherings – even political ones, Michael George reports for "CBS This Morning: Saturday."

Dr. Bob Freedland, along with other Wisconsin doctors, stepped up Friday to urge the cancellation of President's Trump's rally Saturday night in the state.

"President Trump's rallies endanger public health and they have become platforms for him to spread medically inaccurate information," he said.

Wisconsin is one of at least seven states that in the past two days have set records for infections – and there's no mystery about what's causing case numbers to rise.

That's weird, world just jumped up to over 400,000 new cases in one day, and I didn't see any associated headlines

I have a lot of family and friends in Wisconsin and worry a lot about the pandemic there. Your absolutely right about the fact it’s no mystery there. Gov Evers has tried repeatedly to do the right things but there is a conservative legislature and state court system blocking every responsible move the Governor makes. It’s obvious that the cheesehead Republicans will put money and politics before the welfare of people....every time. Course the Badger state had a US senator by the name of Joseph McCarthy when I was growing up.
