Looks like my state premier has given up on trying to eliminate the virus thank god

'But Premier Berejiklian said that elimination was not going to happen in NSW, pointing to the state’s population size.

“It’s not going to happen in New South Wales, it never will,” she said.

“We need to find a way in which we can coexist with the virus.”

Which is really just code for "we are running out of money"

Reasons why authorities don’t believe COVID-19 can be eliminated

Florida coronavirus: Miami hospitals hit 95% capacity, mayor says

Miami hospitals have reached 95% capacity because of the growing Covid-19 pandemic, the city's mayor, Francis Suarez, told reporters Thursday at a news briefing.

The demographic with the highest infection rate is people between 18 and 34, who represent 27% of the population" "They are going back to the home and infecting
everybody in the household," Suarez said.

Surveys show 33.7% of respondents report being infected by a family member, Suarez said, emphasizing the importance of sanitizing measures at home.

Florida is reeling from the pandemic, with 315,775 positive coronavirus cases reported across the state, according to statistics released Thursday by the
    Florida Department of Health.

That's an increase of 13,965 cases from the previous day.

Looking at those minks reminds me of a story I read several years ago in which an animal rights group freed 10,000 minks from what they deemed human captivity.

The starving minks went on a rampage killing farm animals and someone’s dog.

When the minks were caught and returned to their cages, they turned cannibal

Highest growth rate in number of cases since June 25th seems to have come from India

    1/2 million to 1 million, 100% in 3 weeks

Another example of how "expert" your experts are

6 months in, wildly different infection rate estimates in San Francisco

What is R0 in San Francisco? State and city officials have wildly different estimates

Standford University puts the infection rate at 1.0, the higher estimates come from government representatives with seemingly no justification for the higher estimates other than them being politically motivated

Keep in mind, 1.0 means on average 1 person infects 1 person, and at that rate it means the lockdowns were for the most part useless

    Current world population: 7.8 billion
Current number of people that have ever been infected 14 million. That's 0.18%

244 days since the first case in Wuhan and it hasn't even infected 0.2% of the world's population

At this rate it's going to take 30 years to infect the much touted 2/3 of the population needed for herd immunity

The ones locking themselves in their apartment in 2020 are the ones that are morons. Which is a lot of people

There is a reasonable chance you won't even get infected until 2030

It's never going to go away, everyone needs to get that through their thick head

But, but, but, but, Mr. Trump said it would simply disappear. (Sobs, crying, grabs a handkerchief)

Are you suggesting he may have been in error? ..lol..

Well, I read today that in spite of earlier reports to the contrary, several studies show that blood type likely has no bearing on predisposition to coronavirus.

From what I’ve read individuals with Type A blood appeared to be at significantly higher risk of contracting the virus, and represent a higher percentage
of patients who died from the illness

I’m B+ but the lowest risk group appears to be Type O
