New cases of the novel coronavirus are rising faster than ever worldwide at a rate of more than 100,000 a day over the last seven days..

But according to VG it's not a real pandemic. :rage:

New cases just means newly tested positive doesn't mean newly infected. A lot of countries still doing a half assed job with testing. You could probably say newly infected per day is now ten times what those new cases are

This corona virus is the strangest germ I've ever heard of. It's very dangerous the way it spreads. It is so mysterious the way it lurks in schools, but then dies at Home Depot. It can wreak havoc in churches; praying people are exceptionally vulnerable. Mind-boggling how it vanishes when people stand close holding signs, though. Yet, standing to watch a marathon or a concert triggers its wrath. It is sneaky. It can spread when buying clothes at Kohl's, but not at Target. It is non-alcoholic. It can't spread when you are buying beer. It lives for two days on Amazon boxes, you must wait 48 hours to touch them. It can't survive on coffee cups, so enjoying a hot cup of joe is safe. It is the most curious thing, how it lives on basketballs and ballet bars, but dies on Walmart shopping carts. It spreads on hair stylists, dog groomers, and dentists, but not on bank tellers, cashiers, and janitors. It's so smart. It knows when the 11th person shows up. It even knows what you want, and what you need. If I want a massage, it is very actively on the prowl and not even a mask can stop it. If I need a plumber, it is weak, and a mask will keep it away. Who ever heard of such a virus!?

    As expected....................

Hospitals Got Bailouts and Furloughed Thousands While Paying C.E.O.s Millions

HCA Healthcare is one of the world’s wealthiest hospital chains. It earned more than $7 billion in profits over the past two years. It is worth $36 billion. It paid its chief executive $26 million in 2019.

As the coronavirus swept the country, employees at HCA repeatedly complained that the company was not providing adequate protective gear to nurses, medical technicians and cleaning staff. Last month, HCA executives warned that they would lay off thousands of nurses if they didn’t agree to wage freezes and other concessions.

A few weeks earlier, HCA had received about $1 billion in bailout funds from the federal government, part of an effort to stabilize hospitals during the pandemic.

So you don’t care that your tax dollars to the tune of one billion dollars are being used to bailout one of the world’s richest hospital chains, so their top executives can buy
luxury yachts, while laying-off thousands of nurses and lower echelon staff?

    OK

And btw according to the agreement passed by congress, the senate, and signed by the President, anyone found guilty of this type of behavior would be required to pay
the money back, except the President chose to fire the one man assigned to monitor this type of illegal activity.

GENEVA, June 8 (Reuters) - The World Health Organization (WHO) urged countries on Monday to press on with efforts to contain the novel coronavirus, noting the pandemic was worsening globally and had not peaked in central America.

More than 136,000 cases were reported worldwide on Sunday, "the most in a single day so far", WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.

"More than six months into the pandemic, this is not the time for any country to take its foot off the pedal," he told an online briefing.

In response to a question on China, WHO's top emergency expert, Dr Mike Ryan, said retrospective studies of how the outbreak has been addressed could wait, adding: "We need to focus now on what we are doing today to prevent second peaks."

Ryan also said infections in central American countries including Guatemala were still on the rise, and that they were "complex" epidemics.

What a surprise. They might as well just move the WHO to an underground bunker in Beijing
