Doctors have reattached the severed hand of an Indian policeman who was attacked while enforcing the coronavirus lockdown in Punjab state.

The assault took place on Sunday in Patiala district. Sub-inspector Harjeet Singh is recovering in hospital.

Eleven people, reportedly from the Nihang Sikh religious sect, have been arrested in connection with the attack.

All Indian states are in lockdown until 15 April as part of efforts to halt the spread of coronavirus.

Doctors said the surgery was very complex and challenging, but sub-inspector Singh was likely to make a full recovery.

As i understand until the curve flattens and medical equipment and help is adequately managed. But it could also be they need to verify certain statistics in how it really spread and affected the population. So they know better what they're doing.
As you notice I don't claim to know everything. Just like the experts. Only you pretend to know things better. And it's good and worthwile to keep nuancing and correct you, because you don't.

Lol... tragic. They have a plan but don't know a lot of this new virus yet. That's just the way it is. I'm not admitting something strange there... Why put it as such? Aren't they upfront about that in most western countries?
It's not a secret the plan will be adjusted as we progress. We are in lockdown because its certain (also healthy) people will unneccesary die otherwise + immediate chaos in several aspects of society would commence right away.

And again, next northern hemisphere winter, you have a flu season twice as bad, because everyone has been seperated for months, along with the same number of covid deaths, a whole bunch of those countries in Europe flat out broke, along with their health systems.

Where is the plan for next winter? You can't train a bunch of new doctors in 10 months

And I said same number of covid deaths, it's only a relative small chance, based on the viruses virility and ability to stay dormant in cells, but since it has spread a lot further now, there is a slim chance it could come back X ten next winter

All assumptions over the last couple months have been based on this virus acting like the flu rather than like the common cold

If it turns out to be detrimental to put people on lockdown like this, it seems like they will learn from the mistake and plan appropriately for next year. Or so we would hope.

But as everyone has openly admitted--no one knows what the "best" plan of action is. There is no control group in life. I guess we will see how it goes this time next year.

Besides, common health personnel is in fact trained to fulfill critical positions or get more expertise. Here at least. And yes, a lot can be done in ten months in that regard. I don't think you know what you're talking about here...

Correction: There is no fixed long term plan yet. Which makes sense as certain variables are simply uncertain yet.
Just because you act like you know things about their long term plans doesn't mean you aren't speculating just like anybody else.

School's open after Easter. Private schools are under federal funding so will have to. Public schools it's up to the states, ultimately that comes down to how many mother's are going to send their kids to school...and after 3,4 weeks at home 24/7...well

Those are all short term changes. I'm asking about the long term plans you were hinting at. But perhaps they differ because different countries, different circumstances and so different long term plans.
Anyway, you acting like the experts in my and other western countries are fooling us about the long term plans or that they have none whatsoever remains bogus.
