Problem is absenteeism is frowned upon in many organisations.
Many don’t get paid on sick days also.
People wonder why others work sick...

 

Where I work you get sent home if you are sick. You can either leave without pay or take a vacation day to cover it, your choice. We had someone come in sick about three years ago around the holidays, got half the department sick. It isn't tolerated anymore.

The episode heightened concerns about people who ignore requests to self-quarantine. The state health commissioner has now made the request a formal order.
