On the news people were buying up supplies like canned food and bottled water as if a hurricane was on the way. Or the apocalypse. Not sure if it's all media hype and paranoia or if I've just not taken it as seriously as I should. Also, tonight at dinner my mom confirmed... planned trip to asia in may is cancelled. I'm like damn, by the time may rolls around, a trip to a trip to Syracuse might be just as risky

The Southern Hemisphere now faces a double whammy potential of the upcoming flu season and Coronavirus. Fingers crossed things don’t get nasty.

 

My brother texted me yesterday and told me to stock up on non perishables now because once schools start closing people are going to panic and buy out the stores. He can kind of ere on the side of crazy conspiracy theorist prepper so I sort of laughed it off at first, but I think he's probably right and I'm at least going to stock up on rice and beans and some canned veggies, just in case

I'm actually going to stock up on toilet paper, because with everyone going crazy they probably won't be able to keep up with demand

I came into work today to a loooong email about our coronavirus readiness plan.
All business travel to high risk countries is banned for the time being and anyone who has traveled to those countries recently has to report it and then work from home for 21 days.
I'm thinking about telling them I went to Italy over the weekend because working from home would be alright
