Yes I do know what RFID is and it's varied applications. Thread Search: RFID ... ...and I'm sure you will see my name floating around somewhere. I wasn't saying RFID is new (I wasn't saying it was old, either.) I guess (the thought) tagging every American with an RFID chip isn't new. Wait. What.
yeah about that - I have a print out of all my current medications and one of all the operations I have had - not only that I carry my insurance card which allows them to find that out. I don't need an "implant" or chip of any kind in a card or anywhere for an AUTHORIZED person to access everything about me. The chips if added could be read by whoever was walking around with a device, no thanks. and if you need better than that they have bracelets and necklaces to notify of anything which can include a subscription to everything about you - again with security, the doctor has to call the place who will only release it to emergency workers. snopes Claim: Health care legislation requires that U.S. residents be implanted with RFID microchips. My intent anyhow was to share the information about microchip pills, which does exist and is a reality. I think people should know about it, especially when discussing "RFID chips" for people (as if *we* were the product).
You know, I disagree with you over one major, very important point... I do not think that if they tried to do this that people will think it's a good idea. I'm almost certain people would object to this to an extent that I can't see it actually happening anytime soon. Too many people just won't go for it and there is power in numbers.
It wont take much to change peoples thinking to think it is a good thing..Have you seen the commercials for RFID chips...very compelling and persuasive..all they have to do is get some celebrities and sports figures to get them implanted and there you go..and the ones that dont get them will be outcasts of society
I don't know...maybe, maybe not. I still think it'll at least be about half and half of people who see the benefit and would be willing to do it and people who would loudly rebel against the idea. People's psyches are already woken up a bit...as in, wary about all the government spying programs and how just in general information is not really personal anymore.. combine that with some people's feelings, whether or not they belief in this or not, it would still make a difference- of something like this reminding Christians and other people of the mark of the beast... so you combine that w people already being upset (some people) about government spying and I just don't see that more than half of the population would go for this being a good idea. Shrugs.
And btw, I have not seen the commericals for RFID chips. Is that (post number 28) a real commercial for them?
it is hard to tell at this point..but what if it became mandatory? Which in all reality could happen, if actual money was done away with. You figure with each person implanted with a chip, the government would have each persons location, medical history, bank accounts, all records on each individual..they could pose it as security for the people against terrorism..who knows, but in time we will see I guess
Some shit would really have to go down first (think WW3 on steroids) for all those things to happen. Not that it's impossible but it would take a catalyst.
it could..but look at the society now, nothings gotten better, only worse..relations between the nations are not so good..it is an exciting time we are living in.
Highly hypothetical. And if it would be tried it would not be accepted. I don't think the 'tempting commercials' will change that much That's your perspective to be clear. Lots of things are better than ever. Some things are worse. All times are exciting to live in :2thumbsup:
In prototype. I am not sure if it would/could stay in your system for more than a few days. I do sense you are trying to slightly jump ahead of reality a little bit. Fair enough. See you in 3 years.
If they ever implant a chip under my skin I'd just take a razor blade and cut that fucker out and flush it down the toilet.
