We may have this event again @ rippee access conservation area. Approx 12-14 mi east of ava mo. Hwy 14. Turn rite, go down a big hill, turn left, creek may be over the slab. If not just past slab camping is on rite rite there w/ locals. Plz dont come til abt june 18th. Last yr i invited folks too early. Too many came @ once. & some1 had put welcome here sign in wrong place. Ppl got busted. I wasnt there. A very tempting meadow is down the road. Some1 either innocently or deliberately put sign in wrong place. If u must come early, go to vera cruz upstream from it. Or be a small group. Several ppl visited early last yr. Pit toilets & picnic tables. Its all drive in too no main trail. Everything is more or less in one place. U can probly float frm vera cruz to rippee this yr as weve had lotsa rain. Nickel ice cream @ ava drug just off th twn sq. Jeans health foods on sq. 3 discount mennonite discount grocery stores on hwy 60. We iust had midwest regs closeby.
We visited evening of 3rd july last yr. A few rainbows. We have an authentic as possible july 4th rainbo ceremony.
We call creek bridges slabs. Some camping before u get to slab. Not recommended for rainbows past slab more room. Dont worry locals wont bite. In fact theyre probly waitin fer us.
