The Mayans didn't stop calculating the patterns of the sky in 2012 because they were scared or because the world ended. They stopped because it was time travellers who gave them this information, and these time-travellers happened to be from 2012. Therefore, they only told the Mayans what they knew. Nothing will happen in 2012 but the same old bullshit. Haven't you learned by now? Everything ends, but nothing ever changes.
The only real change is the end. Death is the only thing that will ever happen in your life that will actually make a difference in your world. No matter what decisions you make, you will still be the same person. And you will still have the same beating heart. And your lungs will breathe the same air. But death nullifies all that. Death makes everything about life pointless. Death is the only change.
I truley beleive that this is going to be the true age of Aquarius. The time that all people everywhere come together as human beings to live in harmony. There will be a state of peace. We will all be one big family as has been intended from the very beginning. It will be a time of enlightenment for all humans. Peace & Love
well people will always be people and there will always as a resault be challanges and imperfections, but war as we know it will indeed cease for many tens, even hundreds of thousands of years, and more then that people will live enough closer to the earth as to be unable to forget how much a part of and dependent upon the nature's cycles of renewal we all utterly are. at the same time there will be tecnlologies, the like of which we have yet to immagine, but these will also be totaly sustainable and tecnology itself will no longer be considered any sort of end all and be all of civilization nor any sort of end in and of itself. all this will not suddenly transpire at the sounding of some cosmic bell however. nor will it come about in such a way that everything can be said to have chainged on some one particular date or even month or possibly even year. one thing we know will happen which will contribute to bringing this about is the deplition of remaining oil reserves. another highly probably and possibly more immediate is the global economic colapse of global economic capitolism. either or both, especialy both, should they occur togather as the very well might, will likely bring about a greater reduction in over all human population then any war ever could, would or ever has. though there may well be wars and environmental crisies as well. or not as the case may be. again this will not take place in an instant but over several years time. possibly a decade or more. the silver lining as you say, one the other side, for those who manage to survive and make it out the other side, will indeed be this comming era of the most great peace, or as it is sometimes dubbed, "aquarian age". at what stage though, of an ongoing proccess, do you pin a particular year or date to? certainly a situation where only one twenty survive will be seen as an end of something, their own lives at any rate, of the majority who do not. a situation where the number of nonsurvivors outnumbers the number of survivors in unprecidented not in geological history but in the few millinia we've had written communication and the agmentaion of shaired memory this has given us it is. i just don't see this as taking place as a single event upon which any single date can be meaningfully hung. we could, of course, with sufficient forethought and self dicipline, avoid much, most or possibly even very nearly all of the pain bettween here and then. at any rate whether we get there by the softest road or the hardest or as almost ineveitable, something in between, arive there we will. possibly within our lifetimes, almost certainly within those of the youngest of you reading this, and of course well within the next thousand years. =^^= .../\...
Guys I really don't want to rain on anyone's parade. High Mayan culture charted the calendars till 2012. High Mayan culture then ended. Each of the calendars was called a KATUN. The Mayan culture went through 4 of these before it's demise. They simply did not have the apparatus anymore or the society to create the next KATUN. That is why the calendar ends where it does. There is no prophecy of doom. Just people getting rich on the back of it. If there are any doubters of this then why not ask the Mayan people themselves? They still exist...there are over 1 million of them in Mexico alone. Go ask!! They simply didn't make the next KATUN! Love Ben xxx
