May as well keep an open mind, cos if it is this cosmic madness - I don't think planets lining up in a row will do shit all. Could be a milestone, just a reeeeeally long mile. If anything happens, even though I still think shit all could happen, I think it'll be much deeper, yet simpler than any expectations. I'll agree with this, but it could just be the drugs. I do hope something happens though, think it'd be pretty nifty
Of course, the winter solstice happen every year around Dec.21! But what people are talking about in this thread is different, not just some planet alignment type of shit. I'm not sure what to think of it, there's no way a catastrophe will happen but my gut feeling tells me something is still gonna happen... but what? Let's see. :sunny: All I know is my coven is throwing a huge party on this date, should be interesting.
I thought it was the alignment of the sun and galaxy's center that made it a more special event this time. I also read that the alignment with the center of the galaxy takes several years since the galaxy is big and the edges are vague. Because we don't have a fixed center of the galaxy because of that it is also not sure when the sun appears for us to be in the exact center. But now people consider it to be december 2012 for obvious but not solid reasons
I just hope that, for consistency's sake, next year we have a "2013" thread about how significant that year will be. They are all significant.
So all those people who are ''feeling a change and a great shift'' are the same people who tend to buy in to this new age pseudo-hippy crap... What about people like me, who DONT buy in to this new age pseudo-hippy crap. Shouldnt I be feeling a shift too? If it's THAT monumental and significant, why am I feeling exactly the same? This is nothing more than people hoping for an easy fix, that will happen magically without having to make any efforts. It's not how things work. This is exactly like the Christians waiting for the second coming or praying to Jesus because he will bring all the answers and all the solutions. You want things to change, then start taking responsibility.
Why did not everybody become part of the 1960s counterculture? Why was that utterly irrelevant for some and very much a force for others? I don't necessarily want change, i just feel that it's happening of its own accord. That's all. Taking responsibility is following the inner thread of that inspiration/intuition, one moment at a time.
Absolutely. 2012 was significant precisely for what it was. As far as Mayanism is concerned, 2013 is actually much more important of a year in regards to the 13-moon calendar. Especially July 26, 2013. It doesn't necessarily stop at Dec. 21st. Dec. 21st is sort of an end a beginning at the same time. But if you're not into Mayanism, that is fine. I'm not into certain things too. And if you don't believe in Dec. 21st having significance, that is also fine. But the very fact that it is being celebrated, discussed, and debated all over the world already is the fulfillment of its very significance. If it TRULEY wasn't significant, it wouldn't be being discussed. Think of how many "end of the world" parties will be thrown on that day. It is a special day, even in the most rudimentary and relative of ways. But it has layers of depth of significance, eventually going Cosmic, from my perspective. Perhaps i'm wrong and it's all my own fantasy? Well it's a collective fantasy then. Because a lot of people will be celebrating this day around the world.
Drugs haven't really been a dominant force in 2012 for me. Not hard psychedelics anyway. Just alcohol and marijuana, for the most part.
Aah, but it's still possible that you've continued with that open mindset and have been noticing things that have always been there. It's easy to find connections when you want to find them. Pretty much every animal out there has evolved to do that as a way of survival. I can't speak for the animals, but humans can change the connections, or patterns, we wanna find, as well as alter the significance and meanings of those patterns. That's why we can adapt pretty well, and also why there are so many of these conspiracies out there.. That's where I stand, never done this before, so fuck knows. May as well chill, wait, and see. If not, bummer.. but you know, there's no rush. Anyway, some badass political shit is gonna be going down in the next 10-20 years, so that's gonna be fun to live through.
I can't believe that i never posted my musical representation of what the year meant for me. Just to update everyone, it's still undeniable to me (and plenty of others) that 2012 did in fact end one World Age and historical era of humanity, and the brand new beginning of a new cosmic cycle, and 2013 is really starting to pick up momentum to reflect this fact. Places such as Reality Sandwich also see that a new cultural movement is really starting to condense and crystallize. So fuck all the haters and naysayers who proclaim "magical thinking". The legend of 2012 lives on. In fact, AFTER the fact of the year it has and it will become increasingly more and more obvious that this year marked the end and the beginning of two historical eras of humanity at the same time. Love it or hate it: http://cosmosaic.bandcamp.com http://thepugrock.bandcamp.com check out track 10, but all the tracks are good.
I would completely agree. 2013 has shown so much acceleration and inspiration for me, and also waves of extreme pain but only to be replaced by an even greater sense of completeness and newness. This is the results of a new era being born.
It's the result of life dude. Life comes with ups and downs. You need a "cosmic era being born" to experience the truism that each year brings with it hardships and ecstasies. It's also just you growing as a person. Yes, as does the myth in your mind. I'm happy for you that you and your new age websites have a good finger on the exact "condensation" and "crystallization" of culture and social movements.
Fuck off man. Cosmology and vast cosmic movements and cycles are no myth in my mind. Sorry that you can't accept the ancient wisdom of past cultures. Take a look at the state of our world, and if you truley feel that we are collectively not at a very crucial transformational period then you are blind. We are increasingly in an "evolve or die" scenario. Sorry that you can't see the obviousness of that.
And my new age websites are also condensing more and more into a new movement. So whether you agree or not, a cultural shift IS taking place. The majority of the population also thought that the Hippies were a joke, but whether you agree with the movement or not, it IS taking place, and its very nature is to be scoffed at and shrugged off as nonsense. So you're only fueling it.
Likewise, 1967 and 1968 were also for everyone involved just an experience of you growing as a person, but that in no way takes away from or replaces the fact that these were indeed very crucial cultural years, filled with transformation. Not to mention 1776, 1849, 1929, and any important year in history in any country where culture underwent a transformation. Now the next obvious step would be a more collective, and global transformation, since that is where we are at in history. Everything is globalized now. This is the movement of life also. I find it hilarious that you shrug off the genuine fact of cultural shifts as a myth in my head, when this is actually just a fact of life, as history clearly illustrates. For one reason or another you refuse to see your own era in history as one that can be revolutionary, which is denying a responsibility to thrust the human race forward out of the pile of stank that we currently dwell in. Especially now, in all times of history, where the world is completely globalized, addicted to cell phones, technology and computers, honors the petty and measly rational mind/information and knowledge over mystery and wisdom, with nuclear threats, overpopulation, an economical currency system that is collapsing beneath its own feet, bombings and insane killings of all sorts, destruction of our ecosystem, the list goes on, an Archaic Revival that stands in STARK contrast to all of that is PRECISELY what is needed, and is really taking form a lot faster in 2013. This is, once again, also just the movement and evolution of life. When things get too extreme one way, there's going to be an equal and opposite reaction on the other end. This is action and reaction. Yin and Yang.
I sense that no later than sometime in the year 2014 that this movement will have condensed enough as to get the attention of some journalist or media outlet to finally have earned a name and distinct identity, independent from any movement that came before it. Or perhaps it will be a self-declared name. Either way, I will be back either sooner or no later than the year 2014 to post a link and show you the name of the movement itself. The movement, which some are already loosely calling the "Consciousness Culture", will be archaic, and spiritual in nature. It will also include music, body art, new ways of using the earth and sun's energy, psychedelics, new ideas of currency, new notions on sex and love etc., and will be a boiling pot of lots of other movements, including Burning Man-goers, festival goers, psychedelic trippers, people interested in Magick, Alchemy, Tantra, Pagan/Wicca, Kundalini, Shamanism, Extra-terrestrials, Lucid Dreaming, etc., with the LSD of our era, DMT or the "Spirit Molecule" as propelling fuel. It will also be aware of the fact that everything and everyone is part of the same One consciousness, whether agreed with or not agreed with. It will all be molded potently into one unified force, and it is already undeniably underway. Not to even mention the majority of the population finally relaxing its attitudes towards the legalization of Marijuana. I remember being in highschool 6 years ago and my parents INSISTING that marijuana would never be legalized in my lifetime. And that's already not even true anymore.
