just a thought. the ONLY ( far fetched) way that 2012 could have meaning is if the Mayans had a knowledge we dont have. if they were "in on it". that to me, assumes aliens. ( like i said, far fetched) PERHAPS they had contact with aliens that knew something about the alignment. only one thing seems even SLIGHTLY possible. physicists recently just discovered that the laws of physics are not constant throughout the universe. ( still very theoretical, but a strong bit of evidence points to this) to go along with chinacat, if "waves" are changing... that would be the only way. time speeding up or slowing down? who knows if the changing of the laws of physics effect that, and who knows if it would effect us even if it was. that's the only way that could make sense to me. like i said, far fetched. i put no faith in it. here is a very interesting article mentioning the variability of physics throughout the universe: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/09/100909004112.htm
heres a segment "After measuring alpha in around 300 distant galaxies, a consistency emerged: this magic number, which tells us the strength of electromagnetism, is not the same everywhere as it is here on Earth, and seems to vary continuously along a preferred axis through the universe," Professor John Webb from the University of New South Wales said. "The implications for our current understanding of science are profound. If the laws of physics turn out to be merely 'local by-laws', it might be that whilst our observable part of the universe favours the existence of life and human beings, other far more distant regions may exist where different laws preclude the formation of life, at least as we know it."
The Mayans had a whole different view on Time. They looked at it from a far vaster perspective. They were looking at cyclic fractals of time. But remember, there's only the Now. Stick with that understanding. There's only This. Ever. From that vantage point, think of the implications if the Mayans were in fact on to something? Their calendars were already pathetically accurate, predicting solar eclipses years and years and years in advance, and being precisely accurate about it. You could literally sling back Time, perhaps, like a rubber band, pulling farther and farther and farther back, and finally, letting go. Like a GIANT deja vu, that spans lifetimes. An infinite remembering in the Here-Now. I'm sorry if this doesn't make much sense. I can hardly grasp what i'm trying to say. I'll come back to this and try to elaborate.
at least we get to be there to witness it firsthand. gonna be a interesting few months around that time ( everyone expecting instant death and what not ) hah i for one think its just garbage...sure the calander may end but there s no evidence anything catastrophic will occur
My official prediction: A bunch of hippies are going to be disappointed and a lot of conspiracy theorist authors will be out of a job. I will probably be in a teepee celebrating the solstice eating some 'yotie.
Yes, it's about presence. And in the present a lot of intense energy is going on, and will continually be on the increase. Eventually it's going to have to reach some sort of apex or threshold point. In the present, a dormant volcano can be brewing beneath the surface of the earth, but in the presence of that you can still clearly see that it's going to have to erupt at some point in time, and you can also get some sense of how immediate that time will be.
I mean the whole point of 2012 could really be about presence. And inviting the mystery that the eternal Now brings. 2012 could literally be the end of Time itself. Or a doorway into whole new paradigms and perceptions of time, such as Fractal Time. It's not that radical of an idea to think that perhaps society and civilization is reaching a certain point in our evolution where we needn't continue to function in a linear time-bound fashion. We could clearly do without it, and i think the universe wants this for us. Time doesn't exist in the first place. Anyone, right now, can live their lives not being time-bound, but living from spontaneous presence. 2012 could be a point where if the tension is high enough we will be forced out of certain areas of functioning as a society that are no longer relevant. As long as we are collectively running to the next moment, we're chasing an illusion. And i think we can agree that a large portion of society does this very thing? And so i seem to contradict myself when speaking about presence and forgetting about time and yet continously keep talking about 2012, which isn't quite here yet. But from this place of presence is where the inspiration of 2012 comes from. It just arises like a perfume.
dude . . . china . . . slow your roll man it could be this, it could be this, it could be that, it could be that, oh wait what about this, but then what about that, and what if this, and what if that . . . stand back and take a look at how you are thinking about this
Honestly that makes a lot of sense. My biggest problem is just relaxing into the present, which shows with the jagged approach i take to things.
Subterranean Homesick Aliens The breath of the morning I keep forgetting The smell of the warm summer air I live in a town Where you can't smell a thing You watch your feet For cracks in the pavement Up above Aliens hover Making home movies For the folks back home Of all these weird creatures Who lock up their spirits Drill holes in themselves And live for their secrets They're all uptight Uptight.. I wish that they'd swoop down in a country lane Late at night when I'm driving Take me on board their beautiful ship Show me the world as I'd love to see it I'd tell all my friends But they'd never believe They'd think that I'd finally lost it completely I'd show them the stars And the meaning of life They'd shut me away But I'd be all right All right.. I'm just uptight

:iagree: this is kinda what i think too... about the reality of time, and our perceptions of it, that is... it has already started... i can feel it... can anyone else? i believe that everyone will be able to sense this by the beginning/middle of 2013, if they can't sense it now...
Good to hear! No, to be perfectly honest, i only come across pockets of people that have a sense for this.
throughout history technological and cultural change is certainly increasing at an exponential rate... think of how much change has happened in the past 100 years compared to the previous 2000 years. the next century is going to have some insane developments/conceptual shifts beyond any century before it. psychedelics have certainly had a role in helping speed up this process. i think its a little silly to point to an exact date though, its not like one day things are one way and then suddenly another, its just a process that takes more and more directions as it advances. i have more respect for terence mckenna's timewave zero theory as a good metaphor. i honestly think some people take his ideas more seriously than the man itself. its all about deprogramming yourself from your cultural wiring and exploring new perspectives, but lets make sure we don't become overly attached to romantic ideas about unprovable specifics about the way things are, let alone the way they will be. things are often not as they appear . sometimes we get lost in all these conceptual abstractions about whats going on. they have their time and place but lets make sure we don't get distracted from what really matters - our pure conscious experience. is your experience telling you these truths, or are you just writing an elaborate story in your mind? maybe you can perceive some kind shift in vibes or energy but what does it really mean? does it come from inside of you or outside of you? can you even tell the difference? i think these questions are all very worthwhile to consider. good luck on your way to higher awareness, but there might be some growing pains
