letse, you don't need telescopes to make calanders or observe the stars, the greeks did it just fine 2000+ years before telescopes. hell, all you need is someone willing to stay up all night and keep track of the stars. the mayans were absolutely obsessed with time, and devoted an inordinate amount of energy into studying astronomy. it's no wonder that they developed a very good calander (just like it's no surprise that the romans got very good at killing everyone, or the vikings were excellent sailors).
secondly, if me and my buddy and my sister at college all say that "tommorrow it's going to rain frogs" doesn't mean that it's going to happen, or that it's more likely to happen because three of us said it.
    that's not ignorant, that's a little arrogant.
being ignorant is misusing the word ignorant.

do you like irony or something?

nope, not at all, not one thing. i don't believe in any of it (god, aliens, mayans, Eris). it must piss you off that all the evidence is in my corner at the moment...
caus although it FEELS like there is something out there, that doesn't mean there is (or even that there's a good chance there will be).
really kid, you are only suplementing one blind faith (god) for another (aliens, new age, doomsday prophecy), and some asshat is going to be there to fleece you outta your duchets...

In a near-death expirience i read, some guy asked the question in heavin if there were aliens or anything such, and the angel/jesus/God replied "The universe is filled with life".

Near-death experiences guys, please research them. Do you know when people have died on operating tables, there has been occurrences where the person would explain everything that happend to the doctor, when there could be no way of knowing because the person was obviously unconscious, dead. They claim to float about 10 ft above their body feeling ultimate peace, loved again. There is so much more to NDE's that i really wish you guys would read, there amazing. If you dont believe them, then go to forums where people like me and you explain there experiences with the after-life and God.

They weren't stupid AT ALL. You make up shit too, are you stupid (I know the answer)? I never said there weren't aliens, in fact I think there might be. I doubt they are more advanced than us because the known universe was relatively created all at the same time so life on other planets would have most likely developed at the same rate. I don't believe aliens have ever came to our planet or that we will see proof of them for many many thousands of years.

the plural of anecdote is not data.
the brain does strange things indeed when under intense stress, like a near death experience. you get flooded with endorphins and DMT, causing some interesting phenomenom indeed.

If you have faith in something and it makes you a better person, good on it. but it's just that: faith. faith means believing without proof, so stop trying to prove the 'oogy-boogy'.

sorry to burst your cheery little bubble, but that article is probably a fake. Alison DuBois is the name of the title character in 'Medium' on NBC.
even if it isn't, mediums are frauds, i used to camp in their homeland (lilly dale NY), and they were never, ever, able to acurately say anything about me or my family.
if you wanna read about mediums, look up Harry Houdini, he did a lot of research/investigation into the subject.

that would be a real surprise to the mayan community. y'know they never disappeared right? it's just a common misconception. A lot of their empire fell apart, and major archetectual work stopped, but the mayan people are still there today, i even worked with one.

i realize you could just be trying to be sardonic, but i just wanna clear up that issue.

it's believing in something that doesn't have any direct proof (or anything close to good 'proof'), simply because it makes you feel better. if that isn't faith than i don't know what is...

Faith and Belief go hand in hand. You have to believe in something to have faith in it my friend.

So aliens and the end of the world are all proven FACT then? Don't get me wrong, I believe in aliens, do I have cold hard evidence and a photograph from E.T. and me on vacation in hawaii? No. It's faith that we are not alone, faith that something else could be light years ahead of us.

Just because the mayans lived some 3000years ago doesnt mean they were unadvanced or stupid, they are just as smart as you only difference is you went to school so you have better knowlagde of some stuff..They had plenty of advance technology for the time and place they lived, their pyrmids are prime example of this. You dont have to have computers and cars to be smart .. those are just conveniences to us. Humans only get more advanced as we go because we learn from the past and gather knowledge, but we still have the same brain compacity as mayans so dont go thinking they where primitve pepole who made up stories its very possible aliens visted us back far and have moved on becasue there is so many other planets to goto, why stay at one thats no different than another besides the forums of life..mabey they knew one day this planet wouldnt hold the 2of us and let us be, in search of more 'intelligent' life to learn from or teach to, perhaps these alines told the mayans about so many years from now we will return or we will destory the planet idk

dude proof of other life. not prrof of theyre age w/e or end of the world. as i said- i dont believe in the end of the world. there is no reason for earth to be destroyed, just us- fragile little beings.

proof of other life is us. just us existing means we arent alone. im not faithfull about 2012, i just know 100% something will happen, it could be a million things, like even a star finally going out and showing w/e, im just saying it could be an alien wipe out of us. ffs...
