First Intel Discrete Consumer GPUs Could Start Around $200 For Mainstream Appeal | HotHardware Intel hired half of AMD's graphics department and the two appear to be coordinating their attack on Nvidia. Intel has the lead in 3D chip stacking and is going for dominating the portable market and low end gpu markets, while AMD is already threatening to eat Nvidia's tensor cores using hybrid ray tracing which all the bling and half the calories. Intel is integrating all the crap for Microsoft and creating a new distributed computing architecture that will radically redefine the graphics pipeline as we know it and computers in general. Basically, they have squeezed so many parts on a chip at this point that the next gen laptops won't stutter, will use at least half the power, will be bug free, won't require long downloads, or have any of the serious problems we commonly experience today.
