Quantum mechanics describes all kinds of utterly nonsensical phenomena and quantum computers use different things such as superposition to crunch the numbers faster, but entanglement is the quintessential quantum state that provides the biggest benefits and is equally hard to achieve. The power of the computer to crunch the numbers goes up exponentially with each new qubit added, and 50 qubits are enough to crunch numbers that no classical computer will ever be able to do in anything remotely like a reasonable amount of time. Entangled quanta are as analog as analog gets, and you could say they either simulate reality or the other way around, but only Schrodinger's Cat knows for sure.
