i have a 1950 roosevelt dime worth ~3 USD. pretty sweet that it's worth 30x what it did back then.

i also have a 1943 steel wheat penny. copper was being saved for the war effort. it's worth 12-15 cents, but if you are lucky enough to find a copper one, it might be worth a lot.

i have some other cool coins, mostly foreign ones, and probably less valuable than the two i just mentioned.

i also like to keep old paper money, but i doubt it's worth very much. i just looked up a 1969 ten dollar bill, worth 12-15 bucks in average condition...mine is pretty fuckin nice

got a 1963 five dollar bill worth maybe 7 bucks

i just found this article, but i don't think mine is fake

and i wonder how much all the baseball/football/basketball cards i have at my parents' is worth.

not that i'm in desperate need of money. i just found this penny and all hell broke loose

When I was young I had a major card collection. I had a couple dozen rookie cards that were worth quite a bit of dough. Along with several hundred more cards that together would bring in a few thousand bucks at least. My lovely mother was mad at me one day so she decided to tear them all up and bury them in the snow. All of them were ruined. I was most upset about my John Elway Rookie card, and I had every starter of the 98 Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos.

So to thank her I swiped a big portion of her fancy coin collection and gave it to some pan handlers by the 711.

My father was in the Navy for 25 years and he collected coins from around the world, he also had a bunch of old US coins that I inherited but my sister wanted them so I gave them to her.

just looked up a 1941 wheat penny - worth 35 cents minimum (says cointrackers), more than the steel 1943 one.

    quite a collection you have

i have a 1962 canadian penny, and a 1962 cent coin from panama.

i swear i used to have a 1990 canadian penny with a pig on the back of it. wonder what the hell happened to it, and what was the reason for the pig. and idea?

ahh, nvm..i think it was a penny from bermuda.

Very cool, I love old coins and metal..just got a 1920 penny yesterday. I always marvel and wonder what the coin has seen and been..who knows? If only we could put a teeny tiny camera on board a penny to see the day in a life of a penny..well that would suck, especially if it is stuck in a box

Just found a silver dime the other day. I put it with my other coins that I've kept. I used to have a decent collection when I was a kid but I lost most of my stuff when I moved to live with my dad.

I remember gambling at Tahoe (early 60s) when instead of, or in addition to---there were mostly OLD silver dollars used as 1 dollar chips. I think that's how the saying - "getting the ring ass" came to be. It was the habit of fingering the silver stacks by picking them up and dropping them on each other. You could hear the constant RING, as they hit. The "ring ass" referred to losing your money instead of walking away with some or all of it. I got out of work-out of food one time in Hawaii and spent them at a grocery store. Good thing I've not claimed to be a genius!! The dates were in the late 18s.
