It's all hypothetical. Speaking from your immediate perspective.

perhaps the problem is with your presumption of "we humans".

i don't think of myself as being defined by physical form, nor the planet on which i live, but rather a citizen of all existence, not limited to one world, but to everywhere and anywhere it might happen to be.

    Death is an individual affair...

I mean, you could get hit by a bus tomorrow right?

i don't expect whatever happens to this planet, if and when it were to, to have a great deal of noticeable effect on any place outside of its own solar system.

we have all been born knowing we will some day die. the prospect of doing this as a shared exercise doesn't materially change that.

i'm not so sure any of us entirely knows what that even means, other then, whatever remains of our awareness, will no longer have the use of our current bodies.

everything beyond that is largely speculation. but again simultaneous demise over a larger area then say one city having a bomb dropped on it, seems rather improbable. and even that isn't exactly an every day occurrence.

gods floating down out of the sky i will believe when i see it.

decades of famine and starvation on the other paw, resulting from what we've done and are continuing to do to the environment, are very likely indeed.

Indeed, but suppose it was given a set date? The possible circumstances for that do exist.

it is this latter, that many, if not most of us, are less then convinced.

Naw, I think it's rare to carry that awareness...

My guess is 99.9% of people remain in denial of their mortality until their deathbed, then they die pissed off, reflecting on their petty and selfish lives.

If that was true, so many of them would not be seeking a slowing down of the aging process through plastic surgery, facial creams, and supposed miracle drugs. They are very aware of their mortality, which is why they seek immortality.

That has nothing to do with the awareness of death.
Just the awareness of looking old... it's fucking pure vanity

    Gooood morning,

great, I like that. I just rolled dice, got a 2 and a 5. So should we meet again on 2/5/2013 (05.02.2013 for us over here) if world's end doesn't work out this time?

    Regards
    Gyro

well, it might make someone laugh. and the whole point of coming to this site is to be entertained.

it's very rare to find information here that is actually useful.

incidentally, i'm no fanatic but farting is an important part of my daily life.
