Intelligent girl but she has a lot to learn about how our economy really works. I agree the private bank executives are crooks but they are just a small part of the problem. The primary reason we are in debt is because we are addicted to an unsustainable lifestyle and economy, and unsustainable growth. The average Canadian and American wants to live above their means. The average person wants to be "worth" ten times their actual value. The only way to pretend and live like you are worth more than your real value is live in a debt based economy. If we change to a currency that was accountable to real resource values then our buying power would be reduced below 10 cents on the dollar.

Fossil fuels will be gone in 20-30 years and globalization will vanish. This girl will find out in her lifetime what real hard times are all about. Localization and real resource trade and real hard work to get some basic food on the table. She'll be dreaming of the good old days of globalized debt based economy.
