11-Year Old Snitches On Parents For Marijuana

what exactly were these parents charged with? did the video even say? I didn't watch it all because the newscaster annoyed me. I dont really see how there are legal grounds to charge the parents with anything on this, actually. Simple possession maybe, but at this point the pot was not even in the parents' possesion. can you even still go to jail in any states for simple possession?

 

I figure they must as been growing, some kid snitching his parents out for a J isn't really newsworthy unless there is something else going on.

This is terribly sad. I can't believe that the D.A.R.E program still exists.

I wonder if the parents knew that the child was participating in the D.A.R.E program. Seems like you should be able to opt your child out of this.

 

I graduated dare. I can't count all the bacon jokes I made that year.

 

DARE is a failure. i gotta admit, one of the main things that got me interested in drugs as a kid was the DARE paper i wrote on cannabis. all the info i found contradicted the DARE propaganda so i decided to try it myself. i stole a roach from a friend's parents and went in to the woods with it. and it didn't cause my brain to shut down or a seizure or any of that other dumb shit they told me would happen.

i remember the D.A.R.E. program telling us that if we did drugs we would have open sores all over our bodies that would never heal.. wtf?

this saddens me more than i know how to express.. probably after all i have been through over this plant. i hope one day in the future people will look back and see what happened to me.. and laugh and say .. "wow really? she got in trouble for that? seriously? but it's sooo safe! much safer than all the pharmaceuticals/alcohol they were pushing on the people of that time!"
