Do the Commanments provide moral guidance for artificial persons (religions, governments and government agencies (military, law enforcement, intelligence services, civil service, etc.), corporations, charities, ngo's etc.)? Or are they for individuals only? In contemporary political terms, if it is true (as I suspect it is) that the Republican philosophy of less regulation and, apart from the military and police whose primary mandate is the protection of property, smaller government, is driven less by the benefits of a free market than by the inevitable consequence of a richer rich and a poorer poor, then are not the Republicans guilty of a failure in their duty of care to the people, manifested by theft at the very least?
