1 Million for Legalization in Europe!

European Citizens! Hear me hear me! This is one important matter!

Right now there is a petition to legalize cannabis and it's going really well. In 10 months we must collect 1 million names and we are now at 30k in 5 days. Please sign it, spread it and talk about it! It's not an American Revolution, it's a Global Revolution!

Why (at least 1 million in 10 months specificly? Is something promised already?

 

Because the deadline is 20/11/2014

 

Ok and why must it be 1 million?

 

Because of deadline, and when the goal is reached it will be given to the EU-commission for review and a valid descision on what to recommend.

 

In the 3 months following the submission of the initiative:

• Commission representatives will meet the organisers so they can explain in detail the issues raised in their initiative
• the organisers will have the opportunity to present their initiative at a public hearing in the European Parliament
• the Commission will adopt a formal response spelling out what action it will propose in response to the citizens' initiative, if any, and the reasons for doing or not doing so.

We need to reach one million signatures by November! We have around 64 000 as of now. You can check the current progress at https://ec.europa.eu/citizens-initiative/REQ-ECI-2013-000023/public/map.do

If you feel inclined, join the cause!! Since it's a grass roots campaign it's all about spreading the word and printing flyers and whatnot

I know there will be a lot of marijuana events around Europe this year, so how about printing a bunch of flyers and spreading them around those events?
