What do you want to make? Do you want to macrame or sew with hemp fabric?
I think patterns are a great place to start (for the sizing) on larger projects like skirts or dresses...and you can always modify them any way...
Well, now it's patchy clothes but I have to admit that I was actually doing macrame in the 60's, (mostly purses) so that goes waaay back. :)
