I think there is still a jazz element in there. perhaps not so obvious though.
i like all their stuff ive heard. probably a better band than the soft machine, in all honesty.
I like Supertramp, but know they are uncool. i think some of the people in Supertramp were in 60s psychedelic bands.

Metalic KO is unnoficial i think. if so thats their best unofficial one. then i guess the CDs from the Iguana Chronicals series on bomp records...
some of their songs were psychobilly. coz they were featured on the Blood on the Cats psychobilly compilation. And they did gigs with psychobilly...
