in my opinion, to be safe yea, back comb it at 6 inches... it will spike up, cos shorter i guess it will be harder to deal with, my hair length...
I guess it would prevent it, i have thin straight hair and how ever i neglected it wouldnt knot, i mean thats me, but i got my hair backcombed...
