It's strange that, because I can't think of another film either where Samuel Jackson has impressed me (apart from Pulp Fiction), but maybe it's the fault of the director.
maybe we all just have similiar taste?? laurence fishburne is another one of my faves, but what is this; 5-20 faves? maybe it's just that most of his roles are similiar; or that yeah, different directors direct him in different ways. if they could act i probably would have.
densil washington, morgan freeman, will smith, don chedale, samuel l. jackson, larry fishburne, all favorites of mine. and all that spiral out mentioned. hippiewise
well, mine is dave chappell, BUT.... it doenst make a difference, because the difference between a black and white person is the skin color, thats it. it has nothing to do with the acting style. but, i know, im taking it too seriously. im just saying you might as well say "whos your favorite actor" i dont know why im typig this, i just felt like syaing this. but i know its an easier way to make things and ideas more condensed so theres not such a wide range of things to talk about. im done
Yeah, unfortunately the 1st Beverly Hills Cop movie was the only really good movie he has starred in, that I can think of. I just like him alot as a comedian, and this thread is about which actor I like the most, not which one is the best actor, so.. PS. how can you not love a guy like forrest whitaker? Ghost Dog was great. just gotta love that ugly mug.
Forrest Whitaker in the Crying Game. I honestly thought that actor was British when I saw him in that film. The girl was very good too.
Hahaha! Nice one dude! Whatever happened to Leroy Johnson? He weren't a great actor, but he was one hell of a dancer.
it's for fun. there are much less black actors than white actors, so it makes it more interesting. and because there's much less black actors, it should be easier for all of us to come to an agreement on who is the so-called "best" black actor; opposed to the so-called "best" white actor (even if that's not what we're doing here). ah screw it, haven't you ever heard the saying "try everything once"? soz, but hardcore anti-racist people can really piss me off. those guys will bring up racism every single time you generalise a coloured person. but why then aren't you called a racist if you generalise someone that is the same colour as you? it's because they're being "politically-correct"... something that makes no fucking sense whatsoever. that dude rocks, and so does that film.
i know, thats why i said i was taking it too seriously. i just thought is, so i decided to share what i thought. i know its just for fun. i was just talking
So it's okay as long as it's only for fun? It's still wrong. Most people don't like being categorized, but when they do it, it's magically ok.
who said you're allowed to talk? get back in your cell! who's being categorized?? all people are doing is saying who their favourite black actors are. forever people have had most favourite and least favourite things; so if i were you, i wouldn't expect that to change anytime soon.
Just because you don't expect it to change, doesn't mean you can't still try to fight for it. I'm not going to shut my mouth when something wrong is being done just because it probably won't change anything. And did you REALLY ask who was being categorized? Wow. Yes, people have favorite things. But when you break things down by race, it's wrong, plain and simple. Who is your favorite actor? Who is your favorite singer? Who is your favorite comedian? But saying who is your favorite black or asian or indian or caucasian ANYTHING is not right. I'm actually surprised at how many people responded without a second thought.
Favorite Black Actor: Samuel L. Jackson Worst Black Actor: Sidney Poitier (he was too easily accepted by the white community at the time) because he had no fire, passion, or charisma h
